Honda introduced today the 2014 Odyssey Touring Elite at the New York Auto Show. Described as the ultimate family vehicle, the 2014 Odyssey Touring Elite features sharpened exterior styling and a revised interior as well as core safety upgrades. Set to go on sale this summer, the 2014 Honda Odyssey Touring Elite also introduces the all-new HondaVAC, the first-ever in-vehicle vacuum system.
HondaVAC was developed in conjunction with industry-leader Shop-Vac and consists of a powerful vacuum, replaceable filter and canister bag, with nozzle accessories neatly integrated into a dedicated space on the driver's side bulkhead of the rear cargo area. In terms of design, the 2014 OdysseyTouring Elite featuers a new sculpted aluminum hood, new aluminum front fenders, a new bolder twin-bar grille, and a revised lower front fascia with integrated chrome-trimmed fog lights.
Moreover, new two-tone housings, darker-finish projector-beam headlight housings, LED taillight bars and new badging are available. Inside, the 2014 Odyssey offers an all-new center stack as well as new features.
Additional standard technology on the Odyssey Touring Elite brings new levels of ease and connectivity to owners, including keyless Smart Entry with Push Button Start, HD Radio, an SMS text messaging function, and HondaLink featuring Aha Mobile interface. HondaLink is also available and enables owners to connect quickly and easily to a wealth of cloud-based content.
The new Honda Odyssey's refreshed styling is sporty, advanced, youthful, and refined, adding new premium elements. New highlights of the 2014 Odyssey include black-trimmed headlights, a muscular hood, a black-surround grille, and available fog lights, all contributing to an upscale appearance. The new Odyssey also sports body-color matched side mirrors as well as additional bright chrome trim, adding to its premium appearance. New styling for the rear and new LED taillights that come with striking perimeter "light pipes" and clear lenses add to the car’s polished look.
Thanks to the aluminum material used for the hood, lower front suspension control arms, and front fenders, the car is more lightweight. The LX model boasts 17” steel wheels plus premium covers, whereas the EX and the EX-L versions use 17” premium aluminum alloy wheels. On the other hand, the Touring and the Touring Elite models have 18” premium sport aluminum alloy wheels.
Furthermore, the 2014 Odyssey Touring, Touring Elite, EX, and EX-L models sport a wiper-linked headlight system, which turns on the headlights automatically when you activate the front wipers. Additionally, new standard single-touch turn signals add more convenience when you make routine lane changes. With the headlight system, simply flicking the turn-signal lever once gives you three turn signal blinks, which is ideal when changing lanes. Flicking the lever past "click point" means continuous blinking.
What’s more, the Odyssey Touring, Touring Elite, EX, and EX-L models have a new keyless entry system featuring a push button start, allowing you to approach the vehicle, unlock the door, then start the engine without needing to touch a key. The system simply requires that you have the key fob with you. This system also makes opening the car’s sliding side doors and the tailgate simpler. Also, to lock the doors when you leave the car, you only need to touch any door handle’s lock button.
