Jeep surprised us with the Grand Cherokee SRT Red Vapor special series but the “Moparized” Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon “Stealth” show car caught all our attention at the 2014 Paris Motor Show. According to Jeep, the vehicle is an example of extreme technical modification for the toughest off-road use.
As a result, the vehicle was fitted with a Performance bonnet with air vents and black mesh grille, a new LED light bar, Rubicon X design off-road bumpers, flat wings, rock rails, a raised ground clearance and big 37-inch tires.
Moreover, the mirror caps and fuel tank cap feature the Jeep logo while the 17-inch rims and half doors are the final touches for brand’s enthusiasts. The exterior is finished in a Iron Peltrox textured paint while the interior features vintage-style leather seats and upholstery.
Under the hood, there is a 2.8-liter turbo diesel engine, fitted with Mopar accessories, that produces 200 hp.
Jeep is displaying two versions of the new-generation Jeep Cherokee sports utility vehicle at the Paris Motor Show. The new generation of the Jeep mid-size SUV features an innovative exterior with sleek lines, finely crafted interior, a high-level on-road driving character, Jeep’s legendary 4×4 capabilities and new levels of efficiency.
In addition, the new generation of Jeep Cherokee is injected with advanced technologies, on-board entertainment and comfort features. Furthermore, the Jeep Cherokee is provided with 'five-star' occupant safety and protection systems that allow it to become the "safest SUV" in its category, as per Euro NCAP.
At the Paris Motor Show, Jeep will show the Cherokee Trailhawk that comes equipped with a 3.2-liter petrol V6 Pentastar that delivers 272 hp of max output and mated to a new nine-speed automatic gearbox. The Cherokee Limited version, meanwhile, is powered by the 2.0-liter Multijet II turbo diesel engine that generates up to 170 hp of output and paired to the new nine-speed automatic transmission with a four-wheel drive system.
The new Cherokee offers three different drive systems -- Jeep Active Drive I, Jeep Active Drive II and Jeep Active Drive Lock systems -- that offers new levels of off-road capabilities under any driving condition. Furthermore, the new Cherokee comes with rear-axle disconnect that that could reduce energy loss when the condition doesn’t require 4×4 capability, thereby resulting to enhanced fuel efficiency.
Jeep’s appearance at the Paris Motor Show is aimed at presenting its entire range while celebrating its commercial success. Thus, Jeep plans to present a visually impressive exhibition space that expresses the brand's solidity and balance while conveying elegance.
Its elegantly structured exhibition platform features wide surfaces covered with natural materials like wood and stone. This structure reflects the environments -- outdoor landscape and urban world -- that the Jeep Cherokee could easily conquer. Along with the parquet floor, this design lends the exhibition platform a sophisticated appearance.
