This is it folks, the all-new 2015 Ferrari 458 Speciale A (A as in Aperta) a.k.a. the 458 Speciale Spider is here and is official! Set to make its world debut next week at the 2014 Paris Motor Show, the new 458 Speciale A is the most powerful spider in Ferrari’s history and promises to offer a sublime pleasure of drop-top driving.
As expected, the new vehicle is powered by the same 4.5-liter naturally-aspirated V8 engine found on the 458 Speciale that produces 605 hp and 540 Nm of torque at 6,000 rpm. As a result, it accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 3.0 seconds, to 200 km/h (124 mph) in 9.5 seconds, while top speed is in excess of 320 km/h or 200 mph.
Moreover, the 458 Speciale A laps Ferrari’s Fiorano racetrack in 1’23”5. Featuring a rigid chassis that incorporate 10 aluminum alloys and Side Slip Angle Control (SSC), the 458 Speciale A is only 50 kg heavier (1340 kg) than the coupe version. Everything thanks to the aluminum retractable hard top which transforms it into a stylish convertible in just 14 seconds.
The design is the same found on the 458 Speciale but the Aperta version arrives with a unique triple-layer yellow livery and a Blu Nart and Bianco Avus central stripe. In addition, we find 5-spoke forged wheels in Grigio Corsa.
Inside, the racing theme is accentuated thanks to the newly designed seats wrapped in Alcantara with contrasting stitching and 3D technical fabric as well as by the dash, moulded door panels and central tunnel in blue carbon fiber.
Production will be limited to just 499 units and pricing is expected to start at 216,000 euros before taxes.
