At the 2014 Paris Motor Show, Peugeot will unveil its new 308 GTI, a high-performance version of the well-known 308 a.k.a. the 2014 Car of the Year. The latest reports indicate that Peugeot 308 GTI will use a 1.6-liter THP engine that will deliver around 250 hp (186 kW).

In addition, the vehicle will feature a stiffer suspension, bigger wheels, larger brakes but also a new design in order to highlight its capabilities. Later in 2015, Peugeot will introduce the 308 R, a more powerful version of its hatchback, which was highlighted by a concept version back in 2013 at the Frankfurt Motor Show (IAA).

If you don’t remember, the 308 R Concept was powered by a 1.6-liter THP four-cylinder engine developing 270 hp (201 kW) and 330 Nm (243 lb-ft) of torque.

The new 308 GTI is expected to debut next month as Peugeot will probably tease its new vehicle closer to the launch date. Stay tuned, we will reveal you more detail as soon as we have them!

The elegant combination of two dynamic contrasts -- between the Ultimate Red and Perla Nera Black colors – resulted to the creation of the Coupe Franche color scheme that promptly conveys the sharp nature of the new Peugeot 308 GTi by Peugeot Sport.

In design, Peugeot 308 is both sleek and clean, with its top-end version requiring no addition decors just to show its pure-bred character. Thus, the new Peugeot 308 GTi delivers a simple style with utmost effectiveness.

Compared to the standard model, the Peugeot 308 GTi sits lower to the ground by 11 mm while riding on large 19-inch Carbone 19 wheels. The GTi 270 version has light, reverse rims shod in Michelin Super Sport rubber. This version features 380 mm discs with solid red four-piston calipers on the front, complete with Peugeot Sport signature.

Meanwhile, the front end of the new Peugeot 308 GTi is defined by exclusive black radiator grille -- with a horizontal checkered pattern – as flanked by Full LED headlamps flank. The large intake – featuring a grille delivers air to the supercharging cooler -- is surrounded by LED indicators as well as by a strip in red, or chrome with Ultimate Red. Two front spoilers are also located below the bumper, helping the 308 GTi to achieve a SCx of just 0.69.
