Interested customers only have to wait for a few months until March 2019 to get behind the wheel of the new BMW 3 Series (G20). But for clients eyeing the new BMW M3, the wait is much longer as the performance-laden luxury sedan isn't up for grabs at the same as the 3 Series. Some are willing to wait; for those who cannot, the carmaker is introducing a new extensive range of M Performance Parts as Original BMW Accessories for the new 3 Series.
These new BMW M Performance Parts just for the new 3 Series – comprising no fewer than 10 components -- won't actually make the premium class sedan much faster or quicker as they entail no modifications with regards to its power and closely related components. Customers would have to wait for such modifications to happen with the new M3. However, the range of M Performance Parts for the 3 Series can make the limousine feel sportier, more dynamic and more responsive.
The secret of these new BMW M Performance Parts – available in high-gloss black or carbon fiber -- lies on the fact they were directly inspired by and derived from motor racing. They include components not just for the exterior and the interior, but also for the drive system and chassis engineering of the 3 Series. They are designed, for instance, to augment the car’s lightweight construction concept or make the 3 Series more aerodynamic. Likewise, these components can make the 3 Series look more dynamic and sportier.
For the exterior, customers can avail of the M Performance front splitter (or the M Performance front splitter pro), the M Performance rear spoiler and M Performance rear diffuser – all contribute to the aerodynamics of the 3 Series, thereby allowing for a more dynamic driving response and better levels of road holding. Customers can also avail of carbon fiber exterior mirror caps, M Performance side sill films with the M Performance branding inscription, back lights with similar M Performance graphics, as well as corrosion-resistant M Performance tailpipes.
In addition, customers can avail of M Performance wheel in four designs in two sizes (18 inches and 20 inches). These include the 18-inch matt black M Performance light alloy double spoke 796M wheels; 20-inch M Performance forged cross-spoke 794 M bicolor wheels; and 20-inch M Performance forged Y-spoke 795 M wheels. M Performance tire bags are also available. BMW is also offering M Performance 18-inch braking system with red brake calipers.
For the cabin, the 3 Series can be fitted with the M Performance steering wheel featuring carbon fiber trim panel with an Alcantara insert and M Performance inscription. For 3 Series models with the Steptronic sport transmission, the steering wheel comes with carbon-fiber shift paddles. Matching these sporty elements is the M Performance carbon-fiber interior trim with an open-pored structure. Likewise customers can avail of M Performance foot mats with the M Performance inscription and a flag in typical M colors.
Also available is the M Performance drive analyzer that allows drivers to record driving data for subsequent analysis, as well as M Performance holders for action cameras. Furthermore, the new 3 Series can also be availed with an M Performance slide set for BMW LED door projectors, which allows projection of the BMW M logo or other M Performance-related motif onto the tarmac. Customers may also avail of the M Performance key wallet made from Alcantara with carbon-fiber insert.
