Hyundai i30 N is the South Korean carmaker’s very first high-performance hatchback. As one of the N performance models, the i30 N boasts of a number of sporty elements that help highlight its potent nature. Of course, there are some i30 N customers who may think that these elements aren’t enough. To show its consideration for these customers, the carmaker has unveiled the new Hyundai i30 N ‘N Option’ at the 2018 Paris Motor Show.
Even with its sporty looks, a standard Hyundai i30 N might not satisfy some customers who wanted to further personalize their ride and make them look sportier. Good thing is that Hyundai is all bent on creating a number of customization features that would allow these customers to create their own version of the hot hatch. Essentially, the Hyundai i30 N ‘N Option’
Hyundai described the i30 N ‘N Option’ being shown at the Paris Motor Show as the ultimate performance show car. The show car provides a glimpse of the possible accessories that will be made available for the N models – including the i30 N, i30 N Fastback and Veloster N – in the future. It is basically a representation of an evolved N model in terms of looks.
Overall, the Hyundai i30 N ‘N Option’ features around 25 different exterior and interior individualization options. Its exterior is wrapped in distinct matt paint, specially mixed for the show car. In addition, show car comes fitted with the N grille surrounded by a red character line and a carbon hood with integrated air vents, as well as a carbon rear wing carrying the N emblem and quad mufflers. The new i30 N ‘N Option’ rides on casted lightweight 20-inch wheels shod with high-performance semi-slick tires.
Inside, the Hyundai i30 N ‘N Option’ show car features a steering wheel which bottom is wrapped in Alcantara. The steering wheel bottom has black carbon accents, which can also be seen around the air vents and door handles as well as along the dashboard. In addition, the show car is provided with sport pedals and a dynamic-looking gear shift. Its lightweight sport bucket seats -- with a characteristic red longitudinal line – and the upper dashboard can be wrapped in Alcantara. Other than these, the i30 N ‘N Option’ is laden with a number of optional interior elements.
A standard i30 N hatchback is powered by a 2.0 liter turbocharged engine that delivers up to 247 hp of output and 260 lb.-ft. (352 Nm) of torque. This allows the hot hatch to sprint from zero to 62 mph (100 km/h) in 6.4 seconds. Nonetheless, the optional Performance Pack can be availed to increase the max output to 271 hp but with the same torque of 260 lb.-ft. (352 Nm). When the launch control is engaged, this allows the i30 N to complete the sprint in 6.2 seconds.
Hyundai is planning to offer the new N Option range of accessories in the near future, allowing customers to further personalize their rides.
