Back in April, Audi unveiled the TT Offroad Concept, but for the 2014 Paris Motor Show the German manufacturer brought another concept vehicle based on the TT, the TT Sportback. For those who don’t know, Audi confirmed the development of a third TT body style but we don’t know yet which would be the first concept car to enter the production.
The TT Offroad Concept is an interesting addition, but the TT Sportback Concept makes perfect sense and it would be a better choice for Audi in order to fight the Mercedes-Benz CLA. According to Audi, the TT Sportback Concept unites two concepts to form a new member for a potential TT family and invokes the design idiom of the classic TT.
The concept is powered by a 2.0-liter TFSI engine that produces 400 hp (294 kW) and is bolted to a seven-speed S tronic automatic transmission that delivers the power to the road via the quattro permanent all-wheel drive system.
TT Sportback Concept accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in just 3.9 seconds, while offering a combined fuel consumption of 7 l/100 km (33.6 US mpg) with CO2 emissions of 162 g/km.
