2011 SEMA Show: Chevrolet Silverado Realtree Concept is the ideal hunter’s truck

Article by Christian A., on November 2, 2011

The partnership between Chevrolet and outdoor outfitter Realtree has led to the creation of the Silverado Realtree Concept. The 2012 Silverado 2500 HD is the ideal hunter’s truck. It’s currently seen at the SEMA Show 2011 in Las Vegas. The team took a Silverado 2500 crew cab and gave it a custom Champagne Silver Metallic exterior with Realtree graphics.

Dark Cocoa leather is used for its seating with the use of camouflage piping and blaze orange stitching too.

Realtree AP pattern accents were applied throughout the interior. A set of stunning 35-inch off-road tires on 18-inch wheels improve the off-road prowess of the four-wheel-drive Silverado. It has also received a custom front bumper with an integrated winch. Power for towing and off-road driving is enhanced with the use of a Duramax diesel engine that produces 397 horsepower (296 kW) and 765 lb.-ft. of torque (1,037 Nm).

In addition, it has a custom rear cap that securely stores outdoor gear. Entry and egress are enhanced with the use of power-actuated running boards. According to Tony Truelove, the marketing chief of Chevrolet pickups, this truck model celebrates the 7-year team-up between Chevrolet and Realtree.

Chevrolet Silverado is considered as the most capable and most diverse in its segment. For the 2012 model, the Silverado is out to boost that position by certain enhancements in terms of aesthetics, comfort and connectivity. For starters, the new Chevrolet Silverado features new front-end designs, new navigation radio, an updated screen and an integrated hard drive.

The 2012 model of the Silverado is blessed with a chrome mesh grille with a chrome surround (LS and LT models) or a body-colored surround (LTZ). A silver-painted lower bumper fascia is now featured on LS and LT models and is more aerodynamic on two-wheel-drive models without tow hooks. The updated exterior design of the new Silverado is completed by a new 20-inch chrome-clad aluminum wheel.

The exterior could now be finished in any of the new additional colors: Carbon Flash Metallic, Graystone, Mocha Steel Metallic and Silver Ice Metallic. The interior of LTZ models could now be specified with heated/cooled seats. Moreover, two new color combinations for the interior are now available -- Dark Titanium/Light Titanium and Dark Cashmere/Light Cashmere.

In addition, customers may avail of the special White Diamond Edition that boasts of improved looks and comfort. The 2012 Chevrolet Silverado could be availed with the segment-exclusive OnStar and SiriusXM satellite radio, a dealer-installed Wi-Fi system, Bluetooth and USB connectivity. All Chevrolet Silverado 1500 models are equipped, as standard, with cruise control and a spare tire lock.

Likewise, all Chevrolet Silverado 1500 models – aside from Hybrid versions – are equipped with StabiliTrak electronic stability control system that includes Trailer Sway Control and Hill Start Assist. Maria Rohrer, Chevrolet Truck marketing director, noted the Silverado's V8 performance, remarkable fuel economy, and wide range of model offerings that continue to attract customers, as evidenced by the seven-percent surge in sales in the first seven months of the year.

Rohrer added that the modifications for 2012 further improve the already capable and rugged Silverado with a fresh, updated design as well as available navigation radio and Wi-Fi systems.

Silverado Realtree Concept Debuts at SEMA

Chevrolet has teamed up with outdoor outfitter Realtree to create the ultimate hunter’s truck – the Silverado Realtree Concept.

The specially equipped 2012 Silverado 2500 HD will be on display at SEMA Show 2011, November 1-4, in Las Vegas.

Based on the Silverado 2500 crew cab, the Silverado Realtree Concept features a custom Champagne Silver Metallic exterior with Realtree graphics. Inside is Dark Cocoa leather seating with camouflage piping and blaze orange stitching, as well as Realtree AP pattern accents throughout the interior.

Off-road capability of the four-wheel-drive Silverado is enhanced with aggressive 35-inch off-road tires on 18-inch wheels and a custom front bumper with an integrated winch.

A Duramax diesel engine with 397 horsepower (296 kW) and 765 lb.-ft. of torque (1,037 Nm) provides the power for towing and off-road driving, while a custom rear cap securely stores outdoor gear. Power-actuated running boards improve entry and egress.

“This truck is a celebration of the seven-year partnership between Chevrolet and Realtree. It’s only natural to combine the dependable, long-lasting Silverado HD with Realtree, the best gear for the outdoors,” said Tony Truelove, marketing manager for Chevrolet pickups. “Like all great outdoor gear, the Silverado Realtree Concept is designed to get the job done – and look sharp while doing it.”
