MAD Industries unveiled the Acura Street Performance ILX, a car designed to attract people looking for a fun car that “feels at home on city streets or a curvy mountain pass”. Showing up in a matte copper metallic and accented by matte charcoal metallic 3M Scotchprint 1080 film, the Acura Street Performance ILX comes with Acura Genuine Accessories aero kit consisting of a front underbody spoiler, side sills, rear underbody spoiler, deck lid spoiler and body side molding.
Moreover, we find PIAA 9006 low beam and 9005 high beam Extreme White headlight bulbs, H11 fog lamps and Terra LED dome light bulbs. A new set of 19-inch TSW Max matte black wheels were added, as well as a Tein Super Street coilovers, Stoptech Big Brake kit and MPG custom satin black caliper covers.
The powertrain was also updated and the Acura Street Performance ILX comes with CT Engineering supercharger kit and intake, Hondata FlashPro, Greddy SP Elite prototype exhaust, K&N high performance air filter, AMSOIL Dominator motor oil.
As a result, the 2.4-liter inline-4 engine now develops 250 hp. Inside, we find the CT Engineering short-shift kit, Acura Genuine Accessories illuminated door sill and the Acura Genuine Accessories trunk tray.
The chassis of the new Acura ILX chassis employs advanced MacPherson strut and multi-link suspension systems on the front and rear, respectively. These are complemented by new Amplitude Reactive Dampers that could operate two distinct performance parameters in order to deliver – at the same time -- superior ride comfort as well as precision handling. The chassis also employs Motion Adaptive Electric Power Steering to deliver outstanding steering feel and enhanced fuel efficiency. All of these configurations resulted to a highly refined chassis that offers confident handling and a sporty drive.
Inside, the new Acura ILX comes with a well-appointed spacious interior that is also smart and sporty. The interior comes with a number of high-value features like the standard Keyless Access System with smart entry and pushbutton start as well as Pandora internet radio interface and SMS text message function.
Just like all Acura models, the new ILX comes loaded with a wide array of standard features and is offered in different trims (a Premium Package and Technology Package). Moreover, the new ILX boasts of a number of standard safety elements like Acura's acclaimed Advanced Compatibility Engineering (ACE) body structure and multiple airbags (front, side and side-curtain) as well as Vehicle Stability Assist (VSA) and four-channel anti-lock brakes. Acura expects the new ILX to earn top crash safety ratings from both the NHTSA and IIHS.
When availed, the Premium Package bestows the ILX with elements like leather seating surfaces and heated front seats. A rearview camera and an upgraded 360-watt stereo system, as well as an Active Sound Cancellation system, is also included in the package.
