2014 SEMA Preview: Ringbrothers announces custom 1966 Chevrolet Chevelle with 980 hp

Article by Christian A., on October 21, 2014

Ringbrothers announced that at the 2014 SEMA Show we will see their special project based on the 1966 Chevrolet Chevelle. The new vehicle will be unveiled in Las Vegas on October 4 and as you can see from the sketch released, it comes with a new front hood that features two large air intakes as well as a stylish front bumper, larger wheels and a custom interior.

The big surprise is found under the hood, where the vehicle gets a 7.0-liter Chevrolet LS7 V8 engine featuring a Whipple supercharged and a Flowmaster exhaust system that delivers a staggering 980 hp.

For those who don’t remember, at the 2013 SEMA Show, Ringbrothers also surprised us with a custom Nike-sponsored 1971 DeTomaso Pantera that was powered by a LS3 V8 engine.

This year’s custom Chevelle is described as a refined race car that will feature extensive fabrication of interior and exterior panels including Ringbrother’s signature use of aluminum and carbon fiber.
