2014 SEMA Preview: Toyota Sienna Remix shows that it can be more than a car for soccer moms

Sienna is the perfect car for a soccer mom, but Toyota wanted to show us that its vehicle can offer so much more. Thanks to West Coast Customs and SiriusXM, this custom Sienna Remix became a mobile DJ set and will be unveiled at the 2014 SEMA Show.

As you can see from the photos, the design is not changed too much and the Sienna received color-matched Toyota emblems, a black grille and a new set of Giovanna mesh wheels. However, the big surprise is found at the interior where find a 360-degree A/V column that consists of two 40” LCD monitors, four 12” subwoofers, 16 speakers and two LED bars.

In the trunk you won’t find any groceries or the soccer equipment of your kids as the vehicle arrives with a fully functional DJ both that includes 8 more speakers and plug-in access to the audio system. In addition, the Sienna Remix includes five amplifiers and two 32-band equalizers.

“The Sienna:Remix celebrates the large part that music plays in our lives, at all stages,” said Toyota Engagement Marketing and Motorsports National Manager, Steve Appelbaum. “It also reinforces our message in the ‘Swagger Wagon’ campaigns — that the life-changing role of being a parent doesn’t mean the end of fun as we know it. It’s more fun with more family members added to the mix,” he continued, “and that’s when the Sienna’s power sliding doors really come in handy.”

Toyota disclosed that Sienna will be offered in five convenient and configured grades. However all grades will have the same features and visual direction. Showing a more contemporary cutting-edge and bold design, this will be the third generation of this model. The profile has been made more athletic and this is complemented with how unique the windows have been shaped.

The design team worked with engineering in order to have a wide and high shoulder that will allow a hidden door slider to be embedded with the vehicle’s window graphic. This strong high shoulder, when combined with the unique fender flares, helped put focus the wheels, on a visual level. While the new Sienna has the same wheelbase as that of the previous generation, it is now wider and a bit shorter. The front section displays a bold face design.

Its headlamps are made more sophisticated and angled higher that its grille. This gives it that confident front presence. The sculptural corner on the rear borders the LED taillights which are not only elegant but also functional. This same corner is what makes the Sienna distinct from the boxy minivans. There is no question though that this new model has a classier and more athletic look. The careful design work gives the new Sienna a Cd measured at 0.306. This also helps in having an exceptional fuel economy and keeping a quiet cabin.

Talking about the cabin, the interior has that elegance and luxurious quality. However each component is functional while also being logical. The way the IP has that unique swept shape gives the new Sienna a feel of increased personal space not only for the driver but even the passenger. Toyota also made sure to put extra attention to the details in order to give each part that added value. The seats have that sleek design allowing for roominess and flexibility. In addition, the audio controls and climate controls have been integrated into one graphic element.
