At the upcoming SEMA show in Las Vegas, Nissan is planning to unveil a collection of optional parts exclusive to the Nissan GT-R NISMO (R35) in the United States. This bundle, dubbed as the "NISMO N Attack Package," includes dedicated parts developed through Nissan’s time attack project at Nürburgring in Germany.
In that project, the Nissan GT-R NISMO was able to post the fastest time for a volume production vehicle at Nürburgring at 7 minutes 8.679 seconds. These optional parts include aerodynamics for superior down-force, full bucket seats for maintaining the optimal driving position, and a suspension system that can bear the brunt force coming from the road surface.
Nismo employed the latest Computational Fluid Dynamic simulation techniques to analyze airflow on the Nissan GT-R NISMO, allowing it to successfully come up with an aero package that does not only enhance road-holding and reduce the bad impact of drag, but it also grants the vehicle a more intimidating and muscular look.
For instance, the package includes a front bumper, engine undercover strake and carbon rear spoiler that heighten downforce while lowering the car’s center of gravity.
Moreover, these parts generate an additional 100kg, at 300km/h, compared to the MY2014 Nissan GT-R. Nismo tuned the car’s aerodynamic profile to guarantee an equal spread of downforce from front to rear at all speeds, paving way for a more progressive handling characteristic.
Additionally, the package features a wider front bumper configuration as well as an elongated yet tapered rear bumper design to maintain the drag coefficient to Cd 0.26 (similar as that of the 2014 Nissan GT-R). Furthermore, the package includes black 6-spoke wheels as inspired by the Nissan GT500 race car.
Nismo customers can choose from five different body colors for their Nissan GT-R Nismo: Brilliant White Pearl, Meteor Flake Pearl Black, Ultimate Metallic Silver and Vibrant Red as well as the exclusive Dark Matte Grey.
Inside the GT-R Nismo is a cockpit that features an optimized driving position. Drivers and front passengers are treated to ergonomically sculpted carbon-fiber-supported reclining RECARO seats (Europe/Japan).
On the other hand, the three-spoked steering wheel is wrapped in Alcantara and features a red center mark and red stitching. Interestingly, the meter hood is also wrapped in Alcantara. In addition, the car’s combi meter dons a carbon-like finish, while the tachometer sports a red design.
The GT-R Nismo features an interior trim with discreet red stitching on the seats, door trim, steering wheel and center console. All parts included in the NISMO N Attack Package are combined and assembled in Japan at the NISMO Omori Factory, whose mechanics were part of the time attack project.
Sales and installation of the parts in the United States will be officially done by Steve Millen Sportsparts Inc. (STILLEN). The company’s chief executive, Steven Millen, used to be a race driver for Nissan and he was able to secure several wins in his tricolor 300ZX.
STILLEN is known for its expertise in motorsports as well as for its specialization in high performance parts. STILLEN received vigorous training at the NISMO Omori Factory in Japan to learn all the needed techniques for special assembly processes, servicing and maintenance for each N Attack Package. Following this training, STILLEN became the certified sales agency and official installer of the NISMO N Attack Package.
