For many people, the word Bentley generally refers to luxury, beauty, and refinement. A good example of this is the 2017 Bentayga which was first revealed back in 2015. While undoubtedly the most expensive SUV on the market, it also boasts of being the fastest with electronically limited speed at 187 mph.
However for Germany-based Mansory, this was clearly not enough as the celebrated tuning company has taken a shot at the 2017 Bentayga and has come out with a version that does away with the English country feel and instead brings with it a look that’s much sportier and far more exciting.
It was back in May of this year when Mansory first offered a glimpse of how they would approach the 2017 Bentayga. Then they showed a grille and hood made of carbon fiber and fitted with the 23-inch multi-spoke wheels. While there was no word on the interior, there was a promise that inside would be a mix of carbon fiber, wood, Alcantara, and high-quality leather.
So how did the final version fare? Everything starts out in the front. The nose for instance comes with a number of carbon fiber pieces. While the front fascia’s air intakes have been made more pronounced, Mansory made sure to make the lower splitter have a more athletic feel. Through the use of the fender flares and the big side skirts, it allowed the 2017 Bentayga to look wider than it already is.
There are other carbon fiber trims that can be seen as well on the lower fascia. On the rear section, above the liftgate is a giant wing and below it is the sports exhaust system newly put in by Mansory. While the 23-inch wheels are fitted in as standard, offered as an option are the 22-inch units, though the wheels have been placed on each of the corners. Finally just under the window in the rear, mounted is a lip spoiler, made as well of carbon fiber.
As the first teaser released by Mansory did not reveal anything about the interior, it is now clear that the whole cabin has been remodeled. The pedals are new, same with the leather upholstery. Airbags fitted come with a new design and complement the features already mentioned. There are different Mansory-exclusive add-ons too.
In terms of engine, Mansory put in the bi-turbocharged W12 6.0-liter engine with output at 691 horsepower (515 kW), a far cry from the standard version’s 600 hp output. Torque has been increased as well from 664 lb.-ft. in the standard version to the 773 lb.-ft. (1,050 Nm) in Mansory’s version.
Clearly, words will be different from the real thing and with that said, those who want to get a closer look can attend the 2016 SEMA Show in Las Vegas this month. This is where the Mansory Bentayga is slated to make its official public debut after which it will be made available to customers around the world.
