Banking on the long-term relationship ARK Performance has with Hyundai Motor America, the company has released the details of the race-inspired Solus Genesis Coupe. According to ARK, the Genesis Coupe blends luxury and performance in order to compete with the likes of Lexus RC F and the BMW M4.
This will be the seventh consecutive vehicle that tuner company ARK has created for SEMA. The main reason for pairing luxury with performance was to allow it to go toe-to-toe with its top rivals across the world. Mainly based on the success of the 2014 AR550 Genesis Sedan, the design puts more emphasis on having a wider visual look.
With ARK’s trademarked “Solus” wide body kit, this gives the Genesis Coupe a more powerful look. Even its interior was renovated and now has a redesigned dashboard, race-bred steering wheel and gauges, with the right amount of carbon fiber.
This new model is sponsored by Quaker State as well as the Hyundai Assurance Car Care Express, with its more than 300 service centers across the nation. Car Care’s services include quick oil changes and tire rotation, among many others, all in a span of less than one hour.
Quaker State meanwhile is recommended by Hyundai for the company’s dealer network. As a matter of fact, it is the factory fill motor oil for the brand’s vehicles even as they roll off from the assembly line. Truly the Genesis Coupe is the perfect platform that can help ARK’s performance product lineup, shares Kevin Bentley, who is the Marketing and Sales Manager for ARK.
The 3.8-liter engine in the Hyundai has the strength necessary to manage all the additional power the ARK is currently developing. Furthermore the chassis is not just well-balanced but east to modify as well. As such, this will allow ARK to build a lowered and more aggressive stance while ensuring the clean look the company is after, concludes Bentley.
Underneath the hood of the Hyundai is the 3.8-liter “Lambda” V6 engine that is stroked to 4.0 liters to have that powerful start. The addition of the Rotrex supercharger plus strengthened engine internals enables the Genesis Coupe to go even higher than 500 horsepower.
With the help of the 6-speed manual transmission, the power is then sent to the rear wheels that sport the sticky, Nitto rubber. Rounding out the race-bred and aggressive appearance of the vehicle are the new APR Performance carbon fiber front splitter and the addition of a Legato trunk spoiler.
Solus Genesis Coupe will be officially revealed during Hyundai’s SEMA press conference scheduled November 3 at 11:30 a.m. PT. To know more about the 2015 SEMA Show and be updated on the latest news, simply follow #HyundaiSEMA
