The Jeep Wrangler was named the ‘Hottest 4x4 SUV’ at the SEMA trade show in Las Vegas for the third year in a row. The award was presented by SEMA president and CEO Chris Kersting to Pietro Gorlier, President and CEO of Mopar, Chrysler Group LLC’s service, parts and customer-care brand, and Mark Allen, Head of Jeep Design, in the Grand Lobby of the Las Vegas Convention Center.
Kersting said that the SEMA Award aids in directing customers toward the most popular and most accessory friendly vehicles available in the market. The winners of the SEMA Award are based on the models that are shown in the booths of the exhibitors. Every booth vehicle stands for a “vote” and awards are given to the most prominent models in every category.
Gorlier said that Jeep Wrangler is considered an icon and one of its most customized vehicles. He added that Mopar offers over 300 performance parts and accessories for the vehicle.
He added that more components will be offered with the creation of the Mopar off-road division that will produce new Jeep Performance Parts. Jeep Performance Parts is a new collection of high-end, hard-core Jeep parts, such as axles, lift kits, bumpers, winches, skid plates and suspension components.
Off-road performance is improved by these components that offer factory-engineered solutions. Mopar has recently announced that its new off-road division will offer a Mopar 6.4-liter HEMI V-8 engine conversion kit and a new 5.7-liter HEMI conversion kit, which covers 2007 through 2011 model-year Jeep Wranglers.
Already hailed as the world’s fiercest production off-road automobile, the Jeep Wrangler just got even greater with its continuous upgrades that serve to maintain its off-road superiority. Jeep remains to define its success with the legendary Wrangler formula of topnotch performance, sophisticated interior design, exceptional comfort, impressive versatility and elegant styling that have been embodied excellently by the globally known Rubicon and Sahara models.
New features for 2013 include newly designed seats, double-function windshield washer spouts, interior LED lighting system, and Alpine audio boost. A top-class Sunrider soft top also sports a more sophisticated appearance and a few layers for weakened noise, and all soft tops used in Unlimited units have been restructured for simpler and more convenient maneuver.
Honoring the famous off-roading site, the special edition of the 2013 Jeep Wrangler Moab takes pride of its steel bumpers that are winch-ready, its rear locker, and its rear limited-slip differential. It is offered with body-color or black hardtop and has special off-road attributes such as the Goodyear Silent Armor off-road wheels with rock rails and Kevlar support. Its exceptional and prizewinning 3.6L V6 engine also fires up to 285hp and 260lb.-ft of torque with either a five-speed automatic or six-speed manual transmission.
Established for more than seven decades, the iconic legacy and heritage of Jeep is seen in its top-notch capability, impressive creativity and excellent versatility – features that adventurous people seek in a true SUV. The Jeep trademark thus expresses an invitation to live and embrace adventures by providing a great range of automobiles that sustain owners with a guarantee of safety and security to manage and overcome any on-the-road challenge with poise and confidence.
