Here comes the fastest Malibu ever from Chevrolet -- the 2013 Malibu Turbo. Powered by a new 2.0-liter turbocharged engine that could provide 259 horsepower as well as 20 pounds of boost, the 2013 Malibu Turbo has the ability to accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 6.3 seconds and reach a top speed of 155 mph.

Chevrolet’s designers and engineers intended to endow the Malibu Turbo Performance Concept an aggressive edge, complemented by high-performance and upscale appointments both in the interior and exterior.

Chevrolet’s people likewise gave the Malibu Turbo Performance Concept a Berlin Blue Tricoat exterior finish and a Jet Black/Navy Blue interior. Malibu Turbo Performance Concept provides a glimpse of the possible looks and style for the Malibu Turbo production model, and its designers and engineers intend to listen to how the public reacts to it in Vegas.

The Malibu Turbo Performance Concept boasts of a number of unique features like ground effects package, which includes front splitter, rockers and rear diffuser, accented in Heroic Blue.

Malibu Turbo Performance Concept also features custom lower grille and fog lamp grilles; black ice-tinted chrome accents; Blaze Red-painted fog lamp bezels and inner exhaust bezels; and Black-painted mesh grille inserts, fog lamp grilles, window surround moldings and wheel center caps. The Malibu Turbo Performance Concept is also fitted with clear tail lamp lenses, Unique “Turbo” badges, new 20x8.5-inch aluminum wheels in Night Rider chrome; Pirelli PZero 255/35ZR20 tires, RECARO sport seats trimmed in Jet Black leather and Navy Blue suede, with red accent stitching; Jet Black leather and Navy Blue suede-wrapped flat-bottom steering wheel, door panels and instrument panel.

The concept also boasts of a Navy Blue suede-wrapped shift boot and Dark Argent and black chrome trim plates. The Malibu Turbo Performance Concept is fitted with a Chevrolet Performance concept HiPer Strut front suspension and rear springs, concept six-piston front brake calipers used with two-piece cross-drilled rotors and a concept cold-air intake system that helps the force-inducted engine get cooler, denser air for more output.

Executive director for GM exterior design and Chevrolet Brand Champion, Bryan Nesbitt, said that the exterior style of the latest Chevrolet Malibu inherits its DNA from the Camaro and Corvette to offer a sporty taste for the family sedan segment.

A more outspread posture, broad shoulders and an incorporated rear spoiler increase the sportiness and aggressiveness of the Malibu. The latest Chevrolet Malibu has a 4.5-inch (114 mm) shorter wheelbase and 62-inch (1,574 mm) front and rear tracks that are more than 2 inches (51 mm) wider than the model it replaces.

Other exterior styling cues consist of Chevrolet's dual-port grille, bigger Chevy bowtie emblems (both in front and rear), projector HID headlamps, and new Camaro-inspired LED dual-element taillamps. The appearance is completed by a variety of huge 17-, 18- and 19-inch wheels.

Latest Malibu exterior is projected to be SAE-certified just like the most aerodynamically proficient automobiles in the segment, with a coefficient of drag (Cd) rating near Chevrolet Volt's Cd of .280. In addition, 60 counts of wind drag have been eliminated from the previous model by engineers due to its new figure and style.

The new model also has electronically controlled and incorporated dynamic aero shutters (handpicked models in North American markets). These features increase aerodynamics and boost fuel efficiency without bringing down the exterior style.
