Toyota Prius PLUS Performance Package at the 2010 SEMA Show

Article by Christian A., on November 2, 2010

If you are not satisfied by the looks of your Prius, then you should check the latest addition from Toyota’s booth from the 2010 SEMA Show: behold the Toyota Prius PLUS Performance Package.

The new package is a new hybrid performance line by Toyota Racing Development (TRD), and was developed to meet the demands of the evolving hybrid segment.

As expected, the new line will offer cool and fun accessories that add sporty looks with performance handling. The new PLUS package consists of a seven-piece aerodynamic body kit including a uniquely styled rear diffuser (the kit maintains its 0.25 coefficient of drag).

Furthermore, we have new front and rear bumper spoilers, new side sills, as well as a new set of 17-inch forged wheels. The wheels are wrapped in low profile 215/45R17 tires and have a custom offset,, increasing the track width, but still maintaining the rolling resistance.

The Prius also received an improved handling thanks to the sport-tuned lowering springs that provide a lower center of gravity. A new rear sway bar was added in order to reduce body roll for flatter, more stable cornering and maneuverability.

New PLUS brand of accessories from Toyota will be available for customers in limited production beginning in April 2011.
