Vorsteiner 570-VX dreams of being a McLaren P1 GTR

Article by Christian A., on November 4, 2016

Vorsteiner has unveiled at the 2016 Specialty Equipment Market Association (2016 SEMA Show) styling packages not only for the McLaren 570S but also for the McLaren 570GT. With these style packages, the entry-level supercar of this Woking-based company can be transformed to an excellent vehicle that looks a lot similar to the P1 GTR.

For those not familiar, the Mclaren P1 GTR is considered as one of the most outrageous modern vehicles there is. This model was designed not only to allow for record lap times but to pump the driver full of adrenaline. Since this version is designed for the tracks, the hybrid powertrain gets power courtesy of the twin-turbocharged 3.8-liter V8 engine with output of 789 hp (800 PS) and electric motor which can offer 197 hp (200 PS).

Overall output of the powertrain is therefore at 986 hp (1,000 PS). This racing-only version, when compared to the standard P1, has the track in the front wider by 80 mm with the ride height lowered by 50 mm. Its entire body has a number of aerodynamic features like the wing in the rear which has been positioned above the bodywork by as much as 400 mm. Because of this, the McLaren has a body that can create downforce of 1,455 lbs. (660 kg) when running at 150 mph.

Further, the weight lowered by 50 kg means that it is indeed fit for motorsport. Other features include the side windows that were built using polycarbonate with the driver’s side having the sliding ticket window. To make sure that the occupants get a more enclosed experience, carbon fiber is now used on the roof rather than the glass panels. The whole body is then placed above the alloy center-locking 19-inch wheels fitted with the Pirelli slick tires.

Going back to Vorsteiner’s package, one upgrade in the front section is the bespoke bumper that has been integrated with the modified carbon air intakes, carbon flics, and the front splitter composed of carbon fiber. While this style package is fitted with the forged wheels made by Vorsteiner, the company said that it will allow customers the chance to choose from a wide range of selection. In addition, the sides have carbon splitters installed to them.

Indeed, while the front end is truly stunning, this particular styling package stands out due to the upgrades on the rear section. For instance, it has the same carbon fiber wing that is found on the P1 GTR. The difference is that its uprights are not connected to the decklid but to the bumpers instead. Still on the rear, the customized diffuser has six sharp vertical elements. In addition, the bootlid lip, made of carbon fiber as well, is now more pronounced compared to the GT and the standard 570S.
