2010 Hurst Mustang Pace Car revealed

Article by Christian A., on August 29, 2010

If you’re a fan of the Ford Racing Mustang Challenge, be sure to watch out for the limited-edition special car from Hurst Performance. The BF Goodrich/Hurst 2010 Mustang Pace Car is based on a 2010 Ford Mustang Convertible.

It gets a custom Hurst supercharger that raises output to 435 horsepower and 400 pound-feet of torque, 20-inch polished forged aluminum wheels with gold-painted center spokes, and BF Goodrich’s g-Force KDW tires.

Eibach provided a special handling package that improves the power and grip. Included in this package are Hurst-tuned coil-over dampers and upgraded anti-roll bars. If you notice a brawny engine note, that’s due to a Magnaflow custom exhaust.

For its interior, a gold Hurst T-handle shifter and custom white upholstery with gold and black “H” logos on the seats and floor mats were installed. The color of the convertible top is white as well. The car is distinguished as a limited edition by its special paint job. Gold racing stripes are painted on the car that also has official “Pace Car” logos over a white background. Only 50 of the limited edition cars will be made.

Each gets a special commemorative plaque marking its number in the limited run. The entire Hurst team has affixed their signatures on the trunk. Each buyer can also choose to pick up the car at Hurst’s Performance Center in Irvine, California and get to tour the facility.

The limited-edition BF Goodrich/Hurst 2010 Mustang Pace Car is priced from $36,450 above the base price of a standard Mustang GT or Premium GT Convertible. Deliveries will begin in October. Having finished its run with the e series, the original Pace Car will now go to auction at the Barrett-Jackson Auction in Scottsdale, Arizona in January 2010. The Victory Junction Camp children’s charity will benefit from the auction.
