If an actual racing team commences a project to beef up an already sporty car, impressive results can be expected. Well, any of the stock Mercedes-Benz AMG GT (GT, GT S, GT R, GT S) is already a potent car to begin with. Each version has a different power output, with the GT model developing 456 hp and the newest GT R (2017 model year) delivering 577 hp.
Dime Racing, an actual AMG racing team with a base in Southern California Dime, has an SLS AMG competing in the Pirelli World Challenge. It is also a specialist that supplies the auto industry with engineered components and system, as well as services. Now, Dime Racing is announcing a tuning kit for the AMG GT, plus an actual watch that goes with it. This new kit promises a street-legal AMG GT that could deliver an astonishing 745 hp – the Racing GT.
As for the number of units that will be available to customers, Dime will be just assembling 100 vehicles each year, ensuring that every unit comes with a top-notch quality. The Racing GT limited edition model could be availed at select Mercedes-AMG dealers across the United States. Expect true reliability from these Racing GT models, since, after all, Dime Racing is an authentic racing team with genuine expertise and experience in competitive racing.
Dime Racing has provided only a few details about the Racing GT. However, pictures show a number of aerodynamic components already installed into the body of the AMG GT. These components include a Dime-designed large rear spoiler as well as new set of wheels measuring 19 inches (or maybe 20 inches) in diameter.
Of course, it is only logical to think that to draw out a superior power performance, Dime has made several significant changes to AMG GT’s 4.0-liter biturbo V-8 engine. Dime’s engine kit could include upgrades to the turbochargers, cooling and injection systems as well as a remapping of the ECU unit.
This is what could have allowed the V-8 engine to be capable of delivering 745 hp of max output and 731 lb-ft of peak torque. This is more than the 730 hp of output from the engine tuned by Masonry. Since Mansory claims that its tuning program for the Mercedes-AMG GT allows the sports car to sprint from zero to 60 mph in around 3.4 seconds, Dime’s Racing GT should be able to achieve the same or a better acceleration figure.
Aside from a significantly tuned engine and new aerodynamics, the Racing GT also features Dime’s in-house suspension as well as a new cooling package.
The entire tuning program for the AMG GT is available at around $150,200. This program also includes a bumper-to-bumper warranty as well as a Stefan Johansson Vaxjo watch.
