Vorsteiner creates new VRS Aero Program for 2017 Audi R8

There is no doubt that Audi R8 coupe is already a stylish and dynamically elegant supercar, even without any of the available optional features offered by the German premium carmaker. While customers could really make their second generation Audi R8 coupe look more stylish and more dynamic, they could also opt for a newly created aero program from German tuner Vorsteiner.

Dubbed by the Germany firm as the Vorsteiner Gen 2 Audi R8 VRS Aero Program, this set virtually changes how you may perceive your new Audi R8 – it makes the coupe appear more prepared to take on any challengers on the road.

Interestingly, Vorsteiner’s Aero Program for the Audi R8 includes only three new pieces -- a sleek front spoiler, a dynamic rear diffuser and a massive rear wing -- but they are enough to allow the coupe to convey a more imposing presence. All of these aero elements are made in carbon fiber; all three of them are created to fit perfectly into the new Audi R8. Likewise, it is fairly easy to install each of these aero elements since they are all created to be fitted using the factory mounting points.

More specifically, the Vorsteiner Gen 2 Audi R8 VRS Aero Program comes with: a VRS Aero Front Spoiler (in Carbon Fiber PP 2×2 Glossy with PN # VUD2120); a VRS Aero Rear Diffuser (in Carbon Fiber PP 2×2 Glossy with PN # VUD2150); and VRS Aero Wing (in Carbon Fiber PP 2×2 Glossy).

As for how each aero element costs, the VRS Aero Front Spoiler has a manufacturer’s suggested retail price of $2,695; the VRS Aero Rear Diffuser costs $3,295; and the VRS Aero Wing is available for $2,895. Total price for the whole Vorsteiner Gen 2 Audi R8 VRS Aero Program is around $8,885. Of course, the Audi R8 is not part of the package.

Lead time for the order for the Vorsteiner Gen 2 Audi R8 VRS Aero Program priced at around $8,885 is between five and six weeks.

The current generation Audi R8 is featured in two body types – coupe and convertible. Both models are powered by a 5.2-liter V10 engine that provides at most 540 PS (397 kW or 533 hp) of output at 8,250 rpm and up to 540 Nm (398 lb.-ft.) of torque available at 6,500 rpm. This engine allows the Audi R8 Coupe and the R8 Spyder to sprint from zero to 100 km/h (62 mph) in just 3.5 seconds and 3.6 seconds, respectively.

A more powerful version of the coupe is available – the Audi R8 Coupe V10 Plus. This version is powered by the same engine that is now tuned to deliver 610 PS (449 kW or 602 hp) of max output at 8,250 rpm and 560 Nm (413 lb.-ft.) of peak torque at 6,500 rpm. The Audi R8 Coupe V10 Plus could dash from nil to 100 km/h in just 3.2 seconds.
