Bentley Bentayga receives new wide-body kit from Lumma Design

Article by Christian A., on February 28, 2017

Bentley launched its Bentayga ultra-luxury SUV not too long ago. In fact, the Bentley Bentayga is still on its second model year, following its introduction in 2015 as a 2016 model. It quickly became a symbol of true opulence as it perfectly combines power, luxury and grandeur. However, if you think that the Bentley Bentayga has become old news or just needs some extra frills, you can always turn to Lumma Design.

Based in Winterlingen, Germany, Lumma Design has been known for creating customized elements for different vehicles of different builds and makes. For the Bentley Bentayga, Lumma Design has created an exclusive wide body kit for both the SUV’s W12 petrol and diesel versions.

This customized creation -- called as Lumma Design CLR-B900 Wide-Body kit – further heightened the grandeur of the Bentley Bentayga. Likewise, this Lumma Design CLR-B900 Wide-Body kit made the Bentley Bentayga appear wider, resulting to a more imposing presence on the road.

According to Lumma Design, the CLR-B900 Wide-Body kit was designed using the same principles as the CLR X6R Wide-Body kit for the BMW X6M. Basically, the CLR-B900 Wide-Body kit does the trick by installing a front spoiler with a more aggressive appearance; angular side skirts; and a dynamic rear apron with integrated diffuser. Also noticeable is the kit’s wide wheel arches, making the Bentley Bentayga look like it has been on steroids.

These wide wheel arches practically hug the Bentayga 24-inch diameter rims – specifically Lumma’s CLR-RS alloy wheels that measures 10.5J x 24 inches on the front and 13.0J x 24 inches on the rear. These massive alloy wheels are wrapped in 295/30R24 and 355/25 R24 tires from Lumma Design, although tire sizes 22 inches and 23 inches are also available.

Furthermore, the CLR-B900 Wide-Body kit for the Bentley Bentayga also features Lumma Design bonnet with cooling vents. Since this hood is made from carbon fiber, it also helps lighten the front end of this ultra-luxurious SUV. Clients could choose to have the Lumma Design bonnet wrapped in body color or in varnished exposed carbon fiber finish. This particular Bentley Bentayga comes with exhaust tips made from carbon fiber and boasts of Lumma Design’s signature script.

Nonetheless, clients could have the interior of their Bentley Bentayga SUVs be made more special by availing of Lumma Design’s haute couture interior tailoring service. This service could help clients further personalize their ride, making it more opulent with the use of natural and artificial materials like leather, Alcantara, wood, carbon fiber and aluminum.

For those who wanted a more dynamic Bentley Bentayga, Lumma Design is now in the midst of developing a tuning program for the 435-hp 4.0-liter V8 diesel engine. Likewise, a sports exhaust system for the SUV’s W12 petrol engine is also in the works. Lumma Design is set to unveil its new tweaks for the Bentley Bentayga at the 2017 Geneva Motor Show.

Glamorous and self-assured: LUMMA Design debuts their Wide-Body kit for the Bentley Bentayga

Power, luxury and grandeur: Although the Bentley Bentayga is a superlative vehicle in standard form, the LUMMA Design team saw its potential for further improvement. Thus, just days before the 2017 Geneva Motor Show, the world-renowned tuner proudly unveiled its CLR B900 Wide-Body conversion for the Bentley Bentayga. Suitable for W12 petrol and V8 diesel variants, first deliveries are scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2017.

The immaculately tailored LUMMA Design CLR-B900 Wide-Body kit and its complementary bespoke CLR-24-RS alloy wheels enhance the gravitas of the Bentayga, further elevating its already lofty status in the world of high-class SUVs.

Penned with the same design ethos as the self-confident Wide-Body CLR X6R kit for the BMW X6M, the Bentayga conversion features a significantly more aggressive looking front spoiler, and angular side skirts that make the visual link to the dynamic rear apron with integrated diffuser.

The wide wheel arches that give the car its extra ‘muscle’ extend over the huge 24-inch diameter LUMMA CLR-RS alloy wheels, the largest and most spectacular the company has ever used. But if these 10.5J and 13.0J x 24-inch (front and rear) wheels, shod with 295/30R24 and 355/25 R24 tyres, are too big for your taste, LUMMA Design also offers more modest 22 and 23-inch versions.

Made from carbon-fibre the LUMMA Design bonnet with cooling vents adds a touch of motorsport to the big Bentley SUV, while beneficially reducing weight in the nose. It can either be left in varnished exposed carbon fibre finish or painted body colour. The exhaust tips are made from the same exotic material and feature LUMMA Designsignature script. The rear spoiler lip and roof spoiler are also available separately for the standard vehicle.

While Bentley makes very impressive interiors, they are a little too staid in a car with the LUMMA Design Wide-Body conversion. Thus, a bespoke haute couture interior tailoring service is offered to customise the interior to personal tastes using a wide variety of natural and man-made material that encompass leather, Alcantara, wood, aluminium and carbon fibre. Family crests and individual dedication name plaques can also be incorporated into an interior.

Meanwhile the LUMMA Design engineers are working on a performance upgrade for the 435hp 4.0-litre V8 diesel, as well as a sports exhaust system for the 600hp+ W12 petrol engine.

All LUMMA Design aerodynamic components are ‘Made in Germany’ from OE quality PU RIM, and optionally available in carbon fibre.
