BRABUS has long been considered as one of those who everyone admires when it comes to ideas related to multimedia and business focusing on automobiles. Once again, the company is showing what it can do with the BRABUS BUSINESS LOUNGE package for the Mercedes-Benz V-Class. Showcased at the 2017 Geneva Auto Show, this package the company is telling customers that pleasure can always be mixed with business.
Going in, one will immediately realize that the driver is separated from the passenger compartment through a partition wall. However, this wall does not merely function as a partition as a TV has been integrated to it. It is in the VIP passenger area though that things get taken up a notch. The defining feature is the two VIP Business seats which are power-adjustable. While that itself may not be unique, the seats have footrests that can extended or retracted. Thus, it can be adjusted for a sitting position or a sleeping one. Think of the seats in the business class on planes; that’s what is offered here. That is not all as not only are the VIP Business seats ventilated and heated; they also allow for lumbar support to be adjusted and even come with a massage function.
Like many other modern cars, it will have the BRABUS MEDIA CENTER, among other connectivity features, which works in tandem with the BRABUS CLOUD. Thus, passengers can integrate their devices no matter what the operating system may be to get the best mobile and digital experience. Entertainment is guaranteed with the integration of the Apple TV module and even a PlayStation 4 Pro. Similar to other works done by BRABUS, the features on the interior are all controlled by the BRABUS TOUCH CONTROL PANEL.
Still not convinced? Then be prepared to be amazed at the additional hospitality features that the company has included. There are cold/hot cup holders and a bar compartment. But what use are they if you have nothing to put on them? As such, BRABUS made to fit in not only a coffeemaker but even a refrigerator.
One of the new and innovative features is the so-called BRABUS MAGIC GLASS which helps protect the privacy of those sitting inside. By simply pressing a button, the windows immediately become opaque.
Performance was not taken for granted with BRABUS offering the PowerXtra D4 performance kit. With this, the output of the turbo common-rail four-cylinder diesel engine is increased by 45 hp (33 kW) from 190 hp (140 kW) to 235 hp (173 kW). Maximum torque is now at 376 lb.-ft. (510 Nm), an increase of 52 lb.-ft. (70 Nm).
The BRABUS BUSINESS LOUNGE will be available starting March 2017 and will be priced around $316,000 (about €298,000), exclusive of VAT and ex-factory Bottrop.
