Carlsson gives the Mercedes-AMG C63 S sedan a motorsport flavor

Article by Christian A., on December 14, 2016

Carlsson has once again been making the rounds in the automotive world as we can see from its latest iterations for an A-Class and an S Class Convertible. And now, here’s another one from Carlsson -- A Mercedes AMG C63 S has just received a whopping 625 PS and new aero treatment package.

It does look like Carlsson has finally moved on and is now up for something spectacular. Only last year, the German auto tuning company had met its lowest point riding under the wheel of Zhongsheng Group Holdings Ltd. Thankfully, its new owners, Sambo Motors Co. Ltd. came to the rescue and they successfully saved Carlsson from bankruptcy.

Carlsson’s aero kit comes with augmented air intake, diffuser, rear apron, spoiler lip, side skirts, aero flaps and black-chromed tailpipes. It only makes sense to have all these on a Mercedes-AMG C63 S. After all, the auto tuner’s creations have always been centred on cars with superb performance.

Carlsson’s version now delivers a 616 hp and 608 lb-ft of torque far better than the standard model’s 113hp and 92 lb ft torque output. In short, this highly impressive upgrade can propel the engine from 0-100km/h under 3.8 seconds.

There are two options available for the kit. The first option includes the rear spoiler, silencer, rear diffuser, rear skirt insert and front spoiler. The other one consists of an air outlet cover, mudguards and air ducts. Without VAT, the first package would cost around 9,900 euros while the more expensive kit is priced at 15,990 euros.

Carlsson’s state of the art technology, experience and solid craftsmanship are very much evident on the new CC63S. More than just a stage for extreme aerodynamics upgrade, the car also flaunts the latest Carlsson alloy wheels. The wheels measure 20 inches in diameter with its new design taken from Spring 2017’s “Brilliant Edition” in “Dark Series” finish.

The C63 S’ door panels and seats are dressed up in Alcantara fabric and Nappa leather imported from Scotland. The interior also features Carlsson Blue Tartan check inserts along with combination of blue and black leather for the steering wheel as well as for the dashboard.

Carlsson has been specializing on Mercedes-Benz all these years. This exclusive carbon fibre aero package and interior treatment only prove their longstanding partnership. Their latest work also shows that luxury and sportiness can co-exist. Of course it goes without saying how much we want to see more of these in the near future. But before we wrap things off, what do you think of the CC63S’ new flavor?
