Supercharged Chevrolet Camaro takes over Europe thanks to GeigerCars

Article by Christian A., on November 13, 2016

Fine-tuned American muscle cars like Chevrolet Camaro and Ford Mustang are pretty common in the US. Most likely, you will come across one supercharged Camaro when you’re out on the street. But in Europe? Probably not as much. Over the years, there have been no known car tuners that specialise in building car kits for a car like this. However, things are about to change after GeigerCars comes out with its own version of the 630hp Chevy Camaro.

There is no denying, GeigerCars is making a bold move by introducing a supercharged 630hp Chevrolet Camaro in Europe. The Germany-based conversion specialists equipped the Camaro SS 6.2L V8 LT1 with new ECU software, new oil cooler and a new supercharger. Geiger Cars, led by Karl Geiger has been in the tuning industry for years. The auto tuner from Germany has in fact, made special kits for Dodge and Ford‘s high performance cars before.

An exclusively available sport exhaust system can also go with the newly tuned Chevrolet. These enhancements allow the Camaro to deliver 630hp at 6,500rpm and 583 pound feet of torque at 4,700rpm. Overall, GeigerCars’ Chevrolet Camaro can go from 0-62mph in less than 3.9 seconds and can reach a maximum speed of 190mph using its 8-speed auto transmission gear.

By bringing the Geiger Magnetic Ride Control and the KW Variant 1 coilover Sport suspension together, GeigerCars’ version became its most nimble muscle car yet. The lower ride height, improved chassis and better handling keep the car firmly attached on the road. These, along with the spanking new set of OZ Racing Superturismo Dakar alloy wheels fitted with Michelin Pilot Sport tyres, emphasise the Camaro’s newfound performance.

The 15-spoke alloy wheels come in the sizes of 10.0 x21 (rear) and 9.0x21 (front) and are finished in Graphite (matte). The tyres come in 295/30 ZR21 and 255/35 ZR21 respectively.

The aerodynamic kit consists of air inlets at the hood, a diffuser at the rear, new side skirts and of course a combination of front and rear spoilers for better downforce. For a unique touch, GeigerCars added Matte Graphite strips along the side edges, trunk as well as on the hood.

The German auto tuner also offers an all-inclusive package upgrade for the Chevy Camaro SS at 79,900 euros. The Camaro’s upgraded cabin now comes with a sliding sunroof and special leather interiors. Other standard equipment includes multi-media, audio system and safety packages. Aside from this, it also comes with climate control, limited slip differential as well as the Brembo brake system package.
