AC Schnitzer presents its new Forged Racing Wheel Type VIII

Article by Christian A., on August 29, 2010

AC Schnitzer has always been known for really bringing up the appearance of a car to catch everyone's attention. Its latest creation is no exception.

Designed for some of the BMW models, the Forged Racing Wheel Type VIII is based on Type VI wheel. Forming the new rim are a classic 5 double-spoke design, forged and machined inner star and a spoke frame held in anthracite.

The forged racing wheel Type VIII come in size 22-inch for the BMW 7-series (F01/F02), BMW X5 / X6 and also in sizes 11.0J x 23-inch and 12.0J x 23-inch to suit, again, the BMW X5 / X6.

The Type VIII wheel sets new technological and aesthetic standards as the latest interpretation of the five spoke design. Available in 18, 19" and 20". Black with diamond-cut rim and spoke faces.

AC Schnitzer wheel styles are numbered in roman numerals, with multi-piece "split rim" styles having the added designation Racing. Some styles are available only in classic silver, while others are also available in black with diamond-cut faces to the spokes and rims - these are denoted as BiColour wheels.

For the enthusiast seeking the ultimate in lightweight wheels Forged options are also available in some designs and sizes. The forging process adds strength to the alloy with the benefit that it can be made lighter while retaining its strength.
