The International Engine of the Year Awards 2009 acknowledged the Mercedes-Benz’s 6.3 AMG V8 engine. It landed 1st place under its “Best Performance Engine” category. Moreover, the same event also recognised the engine brand for the “Above 4 Litres” segment.
And today, we are pleased to announce that the Mercedes Benz ML 6.3L AMG had a makeover. The enhanced exterior is more stunning than ever before and fortunately, still suits the highly acclaimed AMG V8 engine.
As expected, the new design lives up the brand’s standards. The front end boasts of a newly styled bonnet with slightly dimmed bi-xenon headlamps and new power domes. The rear now has a pair of darkened taillights with clear lens for the LED. These little changes from the exterior suit the new underguard in shiny chrome finish located at the rear and also at the front.
The 6.3L SUV has maintained its distinctive powerful appeal with its 375kW at 6800rpm power output. The new ML 63 AMG by Mercedes can also perform 0-100km/h acceleration in five seconds. Otherwise, it can also rev up a maximum speed of 250km/h with its 630Nm powerful torque.
The Mercedes Benz ML 63 AMG comes with a multi-level braking system. It features outstanding ventilated brake disks for high endurance driving. Nothing really changed so much especially on the AMG Speedshift 7-G Tronic Automatic Transmission. The driving mode still has three options that provide a sporty all-wheel drive for everyday use.
Meanwhile, the rear and front wheels offer an impressive agility performance at 40:60 ratios. On the other hand, the excellent suspension of the AMG is based primarily on the Airmatic package with air suspension technology. It has an integrated ADS (Adaptive Damping System) and an exceptional Automatic Level Control for a dynamic performance on long-distance driving.
Expect function and luxury to come with the new Mercedes Benz ML 63 AMG interior. Only the finest Nappa leather was used for the sports seats upholstery, which is enhanced with Alcantara fabric materials for the shoulders.
The steering wheel comes with special perforated leather for the grip to match the sporty AMG aluminium shift paddles. Meanwhile, the same Nappa leather was also used on the dashboard for the special edition.
To drive ahead, very lightweight 5- spoke AMG alloy wheels in titanium grey were fitted on each 295/40 R20 tyre. A twin-spoke alloy set is also offered as an alternative to fit with any of the 295/35 R21 tyres available.
The revamped Mercedes ML 63 AMG will be ready for orders starting this July 2010. Price starts at 105,077 Euros inclusive of 19% VAT.
