The 2012 A. Kahn Design Range Rover Sport Red Ranger was especially conceived and designed by world-renowned Afzal Kahn to those who are dynamic, sexy, and energetic, as well as those who love the fast life. The Red Ranger sports a new wide track aerodynamic styling system that features extended front and lower lip spoilers, front wheel arch LED light strips and vented front and rear arch spats with composite air dams.
The aerodynamic styling system also includes extended front and rear lower lip spoilers and RS front grille surround insert in carbon, as well as painted brake calipers coated with special heat-resistant red liquid paint and vented foot pedals in machined aluminum. Highlighting the Red Ranger’s exterior is the Kahn stainless steel twin RS autobiography quad oval exhaust system, which is available in different colors.
If you think that Kahn only focused on the exterior, better think again! Kahn transformed Red Ranger’s interior into a cabin of luxury, with diamonds dotting the insides.
First off, the interior of the Red Ranger features RS Vesuvius-style diamond-quilted deep red leather with carbon trim; red and cream speedo and rev counter surface; and a clock bezel quartered with Swarovski diamonds. The interior also features Kahn illuminated door entry sill stainless steel plates; diamond-quilted centre glove box; and illuminated Kahn entry sill plates.
Kahn is offering customers with a chance to customize any vehicle according to their styling whims. Kahn could design any vehicle according to the specifications of the customer, even changing the exteriors and the interior’s looks and finish.
Right now, Kahn is especially offering its RS600 wheels, which could bear any color that the customer wants. The latest version of the Land Rover Range Rover Sport will be equipped with the latest 3.0-liter V6 engine. For the 2012 model, the engine delivers better efficiency and more power while ensuring that fuel economy is improved and CO2 emissions are lowered. While the previous engine had its output at 245 PS, the new engine can offer 256 PS. Meanwhile the CO2 emissions rating is 230 g/km, lower than the 243 g/km of the previous engine.
Even the base engine, which has an output of 211 PS, has reduced CO2 emissions. Due to the low-flow fuel injection system, CO2 emissions are reduced to 224 g/km from 243 g/km. One reason for the improvements is the automatic 8-speed ZF 8HP70 gearbox, which shows better efficiency. With this, not only is fuel economy enhanced but it’s also mixed with a smooth shift.
For the entry-level engine, fuel economy is not 33.2 mpg and is instead of 30.7 mpg. For the 256 PS engine, fuel economy is now better at 32.1 mpg from 30.7 mpg. Working with the new gearbox, the Land Rover Range Rover Sport is fitted with a paddle shift mounted on the steering wheel and a rotary gear shift selector. However, customers will be glad to know that for the 2012 version, the supercharged 5.0-liter V8 engine has not been changed and continues to deliver excellent power and superb refinement.
All of the EU5 models will have a diesel particulate filter which makes it one of the market’s cleanest diesel engines. But for markets in Europe, and even for other countries that continue to use EU4 rules, the models will remain to be fitted with the LR-SD 3.0-liter V6 engine with output of 245 PS. This is paired to the automatic 6-speed ultra-refined transmission that has command shift.
In addition to improvements in the engine, both the equipment levels and the design experienced an upgrade especially with the color changes to the detail of the exterior. For the Autobiography Sport and the Limited Edition, new colors for the interior will be made available. For the 2012 model range, many of the markets will have the model offered with the new powered tailgate which allows drivers to set what lift height they want.
