Amari Design unveils conversion kit for Range Rover Sport

Article by Christian A., on February 20, 2011

Amari Design has recently unveiled its second conversion kit for the iconic British 4x4, fast on the heels of having released its maiden tuning conversion kit, the Lamborghini Gallardo Invidia edition, just two weeks ago. British luxury car dealer Amari Design’s Range Rover Sport conversion consists of a front bumper with DRL's, rear bumper, wide wheel arches, door moldings, roof spoiler, carbon front grill, carbon side vents, rear difusser (ABS plastic or carbon fiber), carbon hood and exhaust tips.

Customers who prefer a more discreet look can opt for the conversion in a non-wide version. Amari Design will also soon offer its own line of forged wheels. Initially, it will offer three face designs on three different wheel concepts: deep concave, monoblock and two piece.

Not a lot of details are available but the company shared that it is working on a new unique design. This means that this will not be a Bentley lookalike. The 2011 5.0-liter supercharged engine of the Windsor Edition got a boost in horsepower to 611 bhp (620 PS / 456 kW) from 503 bhp (510 PS / 375 kW). Amari Design didn’t provide details on what prompted the increase.

Land Rover Range Rover Sport has a stylish and muscular look, which has been updated to give it a cleaner and more sculpted feel. Its front bumpers, fenders and new two-bar grille together with remarkable signature LED headlights enable it to have an aerodynamic and more sporting stance.

New light clusters, as well as a revised bumper design, mirror the sleek front end. The interior has been redesigned at length with the use of superior craftsmanship, high quality materials and soft-touch finishes, creating the best environment truly worthy of a brand like Range Rover.

According to Phil Popham, the Land Rover Range Rover Sport has produced an avid following among clients who need the performance and elegance of a real sports tourer but give importance to the Land Rover’s formidable off-road capabilities. Now that these have been further improved, followers of the Land Rover Range Rover Sport are likely to grow even stronger.

Product Development Director Phil Hodgkinson adds that the latest LR-V8 engines complement the Land Rover Range Rover Sport’s sporting character, delivering a lot of low-end torque as well as spirited performance together with refinement levels worthy of the Range Rover.

The exterior is incorporated with new relevant and convenient systems that make it safer and more secure. Now, the Land Rover Range Rover Sport comes with a new, advanced remote key that has a Push Button Start and Keyless Entry.

It features a new Surround Camera System that makes it easier to park and tow. Five digital cameras send a close to 360-degree view to a touch-screen display. As soon as the vehicle is started, the cameras perform their function.

There are different choices for zooming in to help in close quarter parking and towing Patented reverse 'tow assist' and “tow hitch assist” functions available on the touch screen menu help in carrying out precise towing maneuvers. The side cameras have broad fields of vision to provide a clearer view of the trailer turning around and the images are electronically controlled to give an accurate view.

Guide lines laid over the rear camera image show the trajectory of the vehicle and trailer and they move in line with the steering inputs so the driver can find it easier to predict what direction the trailer will go before doing the reversing maneuver. Specific features like trailer type, width guides and number of axles can be keyed in to the system for enhanced system outputs.
