BMW M3 Coupe (E92) by Alpha-N Performance

Article by Christian A., on July 24, 2013

Earlier this month, we revealed you the fact that the Bmw stopped production of the current M3 Coupe as it prepared for the next-generation M4. Still, this doesn’t mean that the owners of the Bmw M3 Coupe can’t upgrade it, right? As a result, we present you the M3 Coupe by Alpha-N Performance. The tuning company released an aftermarket program for the M3 and we must say that we are impressed.

The vehicle features an upgraded version of the 4.0-liter V8 engine, which now has an increased displacement to 4.6-liter. As expected, the total output delivered by the engine is now 490 hp and 470 Nm of torque, from 420 hp and 400 Nm. Moreover, the top speed limited was also deactivated and now the Bmw M3 is able to reach a top speed of 196 mph or 315 km/h.

The upgraded engine wasn’t the only improvement brought to the M3 as Alpha-N Performance also created a full-carbon fiber body kit consisting of new front bumper, redesigned hood, wide fenders, side sills, a new boot lid, Kevlar wheel house liners and a new rear bumper with integrated air diffuser and central exhaust system.

Its design is completed by the 19-inch S3 alloy wheels wrapped in Hankook Ventus S2 Evo tires. Furthermore, Alpha-N Performance also installed an Ohlins coilover suspension system.

BMW M3 is known for three things: top class performance, reduced exhaust emissions, and outstanding efficiency. When previously, the measures of BMW Efficient Dynamics were used for a range of lines like the BMW M3 Convertible, the BMW M3 Coupe, and the BMW M3 Sedan, this time, the BMW M3 has been fitted with the Auto Start Stop Function which has greatly regulated the CO2 emission (a reduction of as high as 8% or 24 grams of CO2 per kilometre) and average fuel consumption of the BMW M3.

Starting in the spring of 2010, a Competition Package will be made available for the BMW M3 to further harness its already impressive sporty profile. As it is, the BMW M3 already comes with a 4.0 liter V8 high-revving engine that mobilizes at 309 kW/420 bhp. This unique BMW M3 propulsion capability allows it to accelerate at a superior level compared to competition.

Its 8-cylinder engine, a BMW M3 exclusive feature, is the one responsible for its high efficiency level. What the 8-cylinder engine does is it automatically switches off when the BMW M3 is stalled at junctions or traffic jams, then it instantly re-activates without delay the moment the driver continues with the journey.
