For the 2013 Geneva Auto Show, Brabus will be presenting the 800 Roadster based on the 2013 Mercedes-Benz SL 65 AMG. Powering the standard variant is an AMG V12 6.0-liter bi-turbo engine with an output of 630 HP (463 kW) and 737 lb-ft (1,000 Nm) of torque. Its engine has been tweaked to have an output of 800 HP (588 kW) and 1,047 lb-ft (1,420 Nm) of torque that will be limited to 811 lb-ft (1,100 Nm).
The stock model can make the 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) sprint in 4 seconds but the modified variant can do so in 3.7 seconds and reach an electronically-limited top speed of 217 mph (350 km/h). Meanwhile, the regular model has a limited top speed of 155 mph (250 km/h). Brabus also gives this vehicle an aerodynamic body kit that was developed in the wind tunnel.
All of its parts are made of carbon fiber and it can also come with a matte or a glossy finish in the body's color. Brabus supplies 20-inch alloys with 255/30 ZR20 and 305/25 ZR20 (front/rear) high-performance tires.
Its ride height may be lowered by about an inch (25mm) due to the special control module for the ABC suspension. Other features include a limited-slip differential and a fully customized interior with a new speedometer that comes with a 360 km/h dial.
A Brabus aerodynamic-enhancement kit was developed for the SL65 AMG in order to master enormous speeds. All its components are produced from carbon fibers and come in either high-gloss or matte surface finish. They may also be painted in similar exterior color.
Moreover, the Brabus front spoiler is attached to the bumper's lower section, lending the roadster a sportier appearance and reducing lift on its front axle. Also, Brabus covers for the car's side air vents all through its striking front.
Additionally, the car's sides are refined with rocker panels as well as with custom-tailored attachments for its air vents being integrated into its front fenders.
In order to achieve optimal aerodynamic balance, the car's rear section has been upgraded with a fascia diffuser insert.
Moreover, as alternative to the SL65's 19" stock tires, Brabus suspension engineers developed an exclusive 20" high-tech variant. The car has new "Platinum Edition" Brabus Monoblock R forged wheels that offer perfect symbiosis of maximum strength and lightweight construction, thanks to their cutting-edge manufacturing technology.
Aside from their innovative construction, the wheels have a unique-looking design with 10 double spokes that have been arranged in two fully polished and matte titanium planes. The front axle has been fitted with wheels in 9Jx20 shod with 255/30 ZR 20 tires. At the rear, the 305/25 ZR 20 tires are mounted on 10.5Jx20 wheels, transferring the Brabus 800 Roadster's power to the road. Brabus recommends the high-performance tires from Pirelli, YOKOHAMA, and Continental.
Brabus developed a control module for the SL65 AMG's ABC suspension in order to give the 2-seater more agile handling. The ride height is lowered by about 25 mm.
