Brabus introduced its all-new tuning programme for the 2015 Mercedes-Benz C-Class (W205). As expected, the German sedan received new aerodynamic featured that were developed in the wind tunnel. Available for the standard-spec or Avantgarde models, the new air intakes add emphasis to the design of those fitted as standard, while the new front spoiler adds a more striking face.

In addition, the new rocker panels create the perfect transition between the wheel arches. Brabus also offers the rocker panels with optional LED entry lights. The rear end shows a new spoiler lip for the trunk lid, a new air diffuser as well as the well-known Brabus logo.

Brabus offers different wheel combinations with diameters of 18, 19 and 20 inches. The largest wheels are the Brabus Monoblock F and R wheels, which are offerd with a diameter of 20-inch. Thanks to the new lowering kits and sports suspensions developed in cooperation with Bilstein, the C-Class is now closer to the ground.

The engine lineup was upgraded too and the first step is the Brabus PowerXtra B20.2 performance kit developed for the C200 model which is powered by a 2.0-liter four-cylinder petrol engine. On the standard vehicle, the 2.0-liter engine develops 184 hp but thanks to the Brabus PowerXtra B20.2 performance kit the total output increased by 41 hp.

As a result, the C200 is now able to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 7.0 seconds, while top speed is 242 km/h or 150 mph. Meanwhile, the C220 BlueTEC, which is powered by a 2.2-liter four-cylinder turbodiesel engine which delivers 170 hp.

The Brabus PowerXtra D3 performance kit boosts the total output to an impressive 220 hp and 450 Nm (332 lb-ft) of torque. The new numbers help the C220 BlueTEC to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 7.1 seconds, while top speed is 240 km/h or 149 mph.

Brabus says that the tuning programme is backed by its Brabus Tuning Warranty of three years or up to 100,000 km (62,000 miles). The interior can also be customized and Brabus offers fine leather and Alcantara, as well as aluminum pedals and high-quality velour floor mats.

In terms of looks, the new Mercedes C-Class is far from the previous model. It now boasts of emotion-arousing dynamic design that conveys sensual purity, as inspired heavily by modern aesthetics. This can be seen on its lines and surfaces of the new C-Class, as these elements harmoniously create a new sense of harmony and dynamism. The new C-Class has been given minimalist, purist forms to help highlight its intelligent technology and engineering. The degree of tension exhibited by its surfaces deliberately lends the new C-Class a modern and emotional character, while precise lines blend accordingly with sculptural surfaces to create a progressive interplay of light.

Gorden Wagener, Vice President for Design at Daimler AG, remarked that the C-Class delivers automotive passion through a contemporary design idiom. Its groundbreaking design style is underscored by its progressive and emotional highlights, which also showcase its sensual purity. Thus, Wagener added, the new C-Class reinterprets modern luxury on a whole new level.

The classic Mercedes saloon proportions of the C-Class are defined by its long bonnet, a set-back passenger cabin and short overhangs. Its sporty nature, meanwhile, is conveyed by its large wheels.

The new C-Class can wear two faces: a sporty or the classic face. The sporty face comes with a centrally positioned star while the other – only available for the Exclusive line – features the classic saloon radiator grille with the Mercedes star on the bonnet. To optimize the coefficient of drag value of the new C-Class, the fins of its radiator grille can be completely closed.
