Brabus upgrades the 2013 Mercedes-Benz GL-CLass

Article by Christian A., on January 1, 2013

Brabus has a new tuning program for the 2013 Mercedes-Benz GL-Class. Brabus gave its exterior an air suspension module (which lowers the ride height by as much as 30mm). Brabus also offers various wheels that are sized from 18 to 23 inches. In addition, customers can also ask for a stainless-steel sports exhaust system and high-performance brakes.

For now, the exterior accessories are limited but the tuning company provides numerous interior options. Buyers can get the Mastik leather and Alcantara upholstery or the exotic wood and carbon fiber trim. It also comes with illuminated door sill plates and a speedometer that could reach 320 km/h (200 mph).

Brabus has offers the ECO PowerXtra D6S performance kit for the GL 350 BlueTEC, which results in an engine with an output of 310 HP (228 kW) and 690 Nm (509 lb-ft) of torque. This enables the crossover to accelerate from zero to 100 km/h in 7.6 seconds and to reach a top speed of 225 km/h (140 mph).

Similarly, the GL 500 can be fitted with the B50-520 performance kit that enables the 4.7-liter V8 to produce 521 HP (383 kW) and 800 Nm (590 lb-ft) of torque. The luxury vehicle can then be able to sprint from zero to 100 km/h in 5.0 seconds and reach a maximum speed of 275 km/h (171 mph) when equipped with the optional Vmax unit.

Without observing thoroughly, the Mercedes-Benz GL-Class is closely identical to a usual Mercedes-Benz sports utility vehicle family car. The latest version of the first generation has remarkably prominent athletic sophistication and dynamic power. The front’s styling has a dominant radiator grill. The grill has the central star and premium headlights.

The latter is the latest signature of Mercedes-Benz light-emitting diode. The standard Intelligent Light System headlights situated on the GL 500 4MATIC BlueEFFICIENCY particularly delivers an impression of sophistication. The LED DRLs are incorporated in a chrome clasp in the bumper and underneath the radiator grill. Huge chrome underbody panel sums up the confidence of the front’s design. The diversity can be found in LED technology indicators, a light wave conductor for the position lights and practical Night View Assist PLUS. The latter is available as an option.

For the first time, a wide-ranging AMG exterior sport package is made available for buyers who find it is increasingly imperative for their cars to have a sporting and dynamic look. The side profile’s length of 5120 millimeters and height of 1850 millimeters is well-adjusted.

The 3075mm long wheelbase accentuates the car’s on-road presence. The short body overhangs at front and rear along with the car's perfect ground clearance reflects its suitability for off-road travel. Meanwhile, the vehicle has a huge roof spoiler.

Its bumper has a fresh wing design. The rear has two-piece LED rear lights that use light wave conductor technology. The car also has a huge chromed area of the underbody panel. All these features and characteristics are fit for the social status of this luxurious full-size sports utility vehicle.
