Ford will commence sales of the refreshed 2018 Ford Mustang in the fall. But before that, let’s pause for a moment to admire the 2017 Ford Mustang. Moreover, Carlex Design has taken on the challenge of updating a 2017 Ford Mustang and we have to say that it doesn’t disappoint in any way.

Carlex Design has been known for its specialization on vehicle interiors. The company’s interior projects and custom builds are heavily anticipated. In addition, Carlex Design has been known for creating highly precise and detailed interiors that make use of high quality and precious materials like exotic leathers and expensive metals – all of which are crafted by hand.

One of Carlex Design’s latest custom builds involved the 2017 Ford Mustang. Carlex Design has yet to fully unveil the interior of this work. However, the Poland-based company is kind enough to provide us a few teasers of its latest project.

Although known for its interior work, the Carlex Design is showing a 2017 Ford Mustang with a customized exterior, courtesy of a Roush Stage 2 Mustang kit from Roush Performance. This package includes a hood scoop, body side scoop, side rocker aero aids and rear decklid spoiler as well as front fascia with aero pockets, high flow upper grille, high flow lower opening, front chin splitter and performance driving lamps. 2017 Ford Mustang rides on 20-inch Quicksilver wheels.

The exterior of this special pony car is basically finished in white, but with large stripes of glossy red all throughout – giving the 2017 Ford Mustang a sporty appearance. A red stripe can be found centrally on the bonnet covering the hood scoop, running from the edge of grille to the border of the windshield. The red stripe then reappears on the rood and continues to the rear. Red stripes can also be found on the side of the Mustang, as sandwiched by the wheelarches. In addition, the smaller air intakes on the hood as well as the side mirrors are finished in glossy red. The running Pony logo below the base of the A Pillar features the same color scheme as the car itself.

On the other hand, the custom interior of this 2017 Ford Mustang is still a work in progress, with renderings only provided so far by Carlex Design. The red-white interior matches the white-red theme of the exterior.

While the exterior is predominantly white with red accents, the interior predominantly red with white accents – which means the theme has been inverted inside. From the seats and the dashboard to the center console and the steering wheels, red leather or Alcantara is used. The rim of the steering wheel is wrapped in black leather with red stitching, while the center portion is covered in red leather with the Pony logo located centrally. The Pony logo is also found on several locations inside this 2017 Ford Mustang, including on the dashboard and on the seats.
