Carlsson takes the 2014 Mercedes-Benz S-Class to new heights

Tuning company Carlsson has unveiled its tuning program for the new Mercedes-Benz S-Class at the Frankfurt Motor Show. This new tuning program boasts of taking the new S-Class – already considered as the pinnacle of luxury motoring – into new heights by implementing modifications like the installation of aerodynamic components, light-alloy wheels and bespoke interior trim.

This is well in line with Carlsson’s "Go your own way" company motto. The modified S-Class boasts of an aerodynamic styling kit that features a new front apron with larger air intakes that complement the new, more three-dimensional Mercedes grille.

Providing the Mercedes flagship limousine with a lower and more assertive look is the unique Carlsson RS lip below the center intake. The car also features deeper, sculpted side skirts that draw attention to the new rear valance where distinctive trapezoid cut-outs indicate the outlets for the sports exhaust.

Customers could choose from among three different alloy wheel designs with a number of finishes: the sporting Carlsson 1/10; the classic Carlsson 1/16 RS; and the modern Carlsson 1/5. All three designs are available in 19, 20 and 21-inch diameters. The Carlsson C-tronic suspension lowering kit for vehicles with Airmatic and Magic Body Control will soon be available for the S-Class.

Carlsson also offers a number of engine tuning packages that offer boosted power and torque. For instance, the S500 bi-turbo V8 – producing a standard of 456hp and 700Nm – is tuned to provide up to 610hp and 900Nm. Likewise the bi-turbo V8 in the S63 AMG – producing 585hp and 900Nm – now offers 780hp and 1,050Nm.

Carlsson also further enhanced S-class interiors by considering the customers’ preferences -- all in best haute couture tradition. The cabin boasts of craftsman sewn fine leather and wood, and could feature high-tech infotainment equipment like HD TV screens, an audiophile grade REVOX Sound system as well as a Wi-Fi hotspot. Customers who want a fridge or a Humidor inside their S-class could simply make a request for these items.

The classic face of Mercedes-Benz has been one of the most recognizable objects in the world today and is the golden thread throughout the brand’s days of yore.

The elegant design of the S-Class has always been a declaration of opulent lifestyle and automotive magnificence of its era. Their brand-new S-Class keeps up with this tradition. With its vintage architecture and flowing silhouette, it is a fresh expression of sophistication. The design fuses both the stylish, progressive design and the quintessential charm of our 1930s cars. Fashionable dash and sensual forms in synthesis with perennial precision and unchallenging dominance make the S-Class a timeless design icon.

To highlight the premium primacy of the new S-Class, and its dream to lead, the radiator grille has been upsized, made upright and precise with its three-dimensional design. With its long bonnet, the flowing, domed roof line and the gradual slanting rear end, the all-new S-Class boasts of its classic saloon magnitude. The area has been designed such that the Mercedes-Benz S-Class appears prominent, and the touch of a potent roof line keeps up with the car’s sporty coupe-style intentions

A character line descending subtly from front to rear- the brand’s trademark “Dropping Line” – magnificently portrays both passion and relaxation. The well-defined shoulder over the rear wheel integrates further accentuation to the vehicle’s sporty personality.
