Carlsson upgrades the 2015 Mercedes-Benz C-Class Saloon (W205)

Carlsson decided that the all-new 2015 Mercedes-Benz C-Class Saloon (W205) needs some styling upgrades. As a result, the well-known tuning company specialized in Mercedes-Benz vehicles unveiled its first styling programme for the 2015 C-Class.

The new tuning programme includes a new front bumper with large, stylish air intakes, a redesigned front grille wearing the Carlsson logo, as well as an RS front spoiler lip which can also be available in carbon fiber. Moreover, Carlsson installed a new set of side sills.

At the rear end, we find a two-piece RS rear apron with diffuser insert that can be painted two-tone on request, revised chrome tailpipe surrounds integrated into the rear valance and a new bootlid spoiler. According to Carlsson, all components are manufactured from PU-RIM to OE standards of quality and fit.

The sill panels and rear apron components can’t be installed on vehicles equipped with the AMG Line aero package, but Carlsson is working on it. Furthermore, thanks to a new suspension, the C-Class is 30 mm closer to the ground.

The exterior design is completed by the Carlsson 1/10 wheels available in both Brilliant and Titanium Editions in 18, 19 and 20-inch diameter. The Carlsson 1/10 Graphite Edition are available in 19 and 20-inch sizes, while the Carlsson 1/16 RS design are offered in Diamond and Titanium Editions, with 18, 19 and 20-inch sizes.

The interior was upgraded too with new scuff plates featuring the illuminated Carlsson logo, aluminum door-lock pins and alloy pedal set. In addition, there is a four-piece floor mat set made from high-quality velour with the Carlsson logo embroidered on the front pair. Carlsson also offers a special set of mats with an illuminated white Carlsson logo.

In terms of appearance, the new C-Class looks different from the previous model. It has a stunning powerful design that conveys sensual purity while arousing emotions. Its sensuous lines and surfaces are inspired by modern beauty, allowing them to create a great sense of harmony and dynamism. The new C-Class is laden with minimalist and purist forms that help highlight both its intelligent technology and engineering.

Its well-defined surfaces intently show a certain degree of tension to exude a modern and emotional character. Furthermore, sculptural surfaces and precise lines lead to a progressive interplay between light and shade.

Gorden Wagener, Vice President at Design Daimler AG, noted that the new C-Class is a showcase of automotive passion thanks to its modern design idiom. The innovative design of the new C-Class is emphasized by a number of progressive and emotional highlights that help demonstrate sensual purity. In a way, the new C-Class redefines modern luxury on a whole new level.

When viewed from the side, the new C-Class reveals its well-balanced Mercedes saloon proportions as defined by its long bonnet, a set-back passenger compartment and short overhangs. Its stylish sporty nature is highlighted by large wheels on the rear.

Mercedes-Benz is offering two different faces for the C-Class. One of these is the sporty version with the centrally positioned Mercedes star. The other version – available only for the Exclusive – features the classic saloon radiator grille with the Mercedes star located on the bonnet. Amazingly, the radiator grille of the new C-Class has fins that could be closed completely to optimize its coefficient of drag value.
