Black Chevrolet Corvette Z06 from ACG Automotive has over 1,000 hp of output, Brixton Forged wheels

Sweet and impressive. This is how we could describe the Chevrolet Corvette Z06. As a world-class supercar, the Corvette Z06 is conceived on the track and is engineered to achieve race-like attributes. Its supercharged 6.2L aluminum V8 engine provides up to 650 hp of output and up to 650 lb.-ft. of torque, allowing the Corvette Z06 to sprint from zero to 60 mph in less than three seconds.

But tuner ACG Automotive of San Diego, California, along with forged wheels specialist Brixton Forged of Los Angeles, has managed to make the Corvette Z06 sweeter and more impressive by wrapping it in an matte black package (carbon fiber) and pushing the performance of its V8 engine to a whopping 1,000-plus hp of output. With this, a standard Corvette Z06 pales in comparison, as this black Corvette Z06 project ACG Automotive is at least 50-percent more powerful.

To achieve this, ACG Automotive implemented a full ECU (engine control unit) tune on its supercharged 6.2L aluminum V8 engine. Not only that, ACG Automotive installed a new Halltech intake system on the Corvette Z06. These tweaks allowed the powerplant to deliver more output than it normally does to more than 1,000 hp. But of course, the now more powerful Corvette Z06 needs to be tweaked further to handle all that excess power; and ACG Automotive exactly knows what to do.

All the California-based tuner has to do is to provide the Corvette Z06 with a lightweight full APR carbon fiber aerodynamic package. Now, this 1,000-hp sporty monster is more stable when being driven on high speeds, thanks to the additional downforce generated by the carbon fiber aerodynamic elements. ACG Automotive also installed a full carbon fiber interior. That’s a lightweight upgrade for a superb car like the Corvette Z06.

Controlling all of that power is no easy task, especially on a rear-wheel drive super car. But the team at Brixton Forged is doing their best to put that power to the pavement with a set of their M53 Ultrasport+ one-piece alloys. Each Brixton Forged M53 Ultrasport+ wheel is made up of forged aerospace-grade aluminum alloy that provides an extremely light yet high-strength composition that can handle high-powered super cars such as the 1,000+ horsepower ACG Automotive Corvette Z06.

Power is, of course, transferred to the road through the wheels, and taking care of that are special rims from Brixton Forged. This black Chevrolet Corvette Z06 rides on Brixton Forged M53 Ultrasport+ one-piece (mono) forged wheels in Brushed Smoke Black (matte clear) finish. On the front, these forged mono-series wheels measure 10.0 x 19 and weigh 18.9 lbs. while on the rear, these rims measure 12.0 x 20 and weigh 19.8 lbs. Both wheels feature lightweight backpad pocketing.
