Would you believe that the tuners at Edo Competition modified a stock Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG wagon to offer more power than the C63 AMG Black Series Coupe? Edo installed a high-performance exhaust system, high-flow catalytic converters, exhaust headers, new air filters, and a revised ECU. Edo estimates that with these add features, the wagon could now deliver 591 hp and 501 lb-ft of torque.
Meanwhile, the “normal” C63 AMG has an output of 451 hp and 443 lb-ft, while the Black Series coupe makes 510 hp and 457 lb-ft. Edo claims that the vehicle can now accelerate from zero to 62 mph in 4.1 seconds, slightly faster than Benz’s claims for the C63 AMG Coupe. However, it is several seconds slower than the Black Series model.
Edo wasn’t satisfied with just that. It took out the top-speed limiter and this vehicle could now hit a top speed of 211 mph. It is also now fitted with electronically controlled butterfly valves within the exhaust system so that it offers a pleasant sound.
The valves instantly open to improve the exhaust note when a level of back pressure is attained. Edo also gave the wagon a set of 19-inch, multi-piece wheels covered in Michelin high-performance tires. Its interior uses a generous helping of carbon fiber trim.
After a quick glance at the new Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG’s interior, you will see considerable progress. It has an all-new dashboard design that features an integrated screen and that impresses with an attractive look and with high-quality details reminiscent of the new CLS63 AMG. The car’s quality appearance and quality feel meet the highest of standards.
Moreover, the redesigned speedometer features an all-color, 3-dimensional TFT display at the center. The new 3-spoke AMG performance steering wheel is another element that the new car has adopted from the CLS63 AMG. This steering wheel has nappa leather trimming and a metallic trim element. Its top and bottom sections are flattened and its grip areas are especially shaped, with perforated leather trim to provide perfect steering control. What’s more, the car’s aluminium shift paddles enable manual gear selection.
The doors and the dashboard boast fine, brushed dark aluminium trim elements. Meanwhile, the center console is enhanced with glossy black piano lacquer trim features. The new rotary control, which is used for choosing the transmission modes C, S, S+, M, as well as RACE START, can also be found at the center console. AMG’s special sports seats plus adaptive backrests and integral head restraints are available with combined black ARTICO/DINAMICA upholstery. The AMG sports seats’ side bolsters are covered in ARTICO whereas the seat cushions’ center panels are also upholstered in DINAMICA. DINAMICA is a new kind of breathable man-made fiber that’s pleasant to the touch and that’s characterized by low emissions as well as a great degree of lightfastness.
Designo leather appointments, which give the C63 AMG’s interior a particularly exclusive character, are available as an option. For these leather appointments, you can choose from four single colors and three 2-tone combinations. Furthermore, you can opt to complement this with an "extended black Designo leather appointment" for your dashboard’s top section and door linings’ upper section.
