Article by Christian A., on March 15, 2011

Fab Design has developed a new aftermarket kit for the Porsche Cayenne. Unfortunately, it has already received a lot of criticism about its unsightly appearance. A widebody kit was fitted onto the German SUV.

The kit received a new front apron that has been equipped with generously-sized air intakes, a custom bonnet, beefy fenders, redesigned side skirts, a new rear bumper that integrates four trapezoidal tailpipes, a roof spoiler and other elements.

Fab Design remapped the ECU of the 4.8-liter turbo V8 unit, which offers an output premium of 50 hp and 100 Nm.

As a result, the engine delivers 550 hp and 800 Nm of torque. The Cayenne has been given a set of 22-inch multi-piece lightweight alloy rims and numerous modifications were made on the interior, including carbon fiber trimming, aluminum elements, and an Alcantara finish.

Swiss tuning company FAB Design uses materials that are also used in aircraft construction. This ensures that the FAB treatment can be enjoyed on a daily basis. The addition of a performance kit to the FAB Design more than fits the vehicle’s dynamic optics.

The software installed in the Porsche Cayenne helps the performance of the engine, giving it an extra power output of 50 PS and additional torque of 100 Nm. This results in the 4.8-liter turbo drive engine producing total power of 550 PS and 800 Nm of maximum torque.

Furthermore, the exhaust system is made of stainless steel with four endpipes highlighted with a strong sound that coincidentally enhances the vehicle’s response features. The tires of the FAB Cayenne have a double-spoke design in composite forged 22-inch wheel rims that seamlessly fill the wheel housing.

Putting in extra electronics rounds allows the vehicle to be lowered giving it a sportier appearance but increases the car’s driving dynamics at the same time. This also reduced the rolling motions and pitch down to the least value.

The interior of the FAB Design is unique in that it does not limit the customer on the options available. The customer can choose whether to use aluminum application, carbon intarsia, Alcantara, or any type of leather.
