Article by Christian A., on April 16, 2012

The tuning specialists at Kicherer have unveiled a vehicle based on the new 2012 Mercedes-Benz ML series – dubbed the Kicherer "IMPACT". This real high-performance luxury SUV has a stunning wide body design with the most meticulous attention given to a smooth and harmonious alignment.

What the technicians and designers of Kicherer Fahrzeugtechnik from Stockach made sure of was to eliminate unnecessary edges and air boxes. But then the distinctive features of the ML remained.

As a result, we have an outstanding Concept Car designed by Kicherer Fahrzeugtechnik, which is famous for its refinement packages for Mercedes Benz models. With this set of features, the vehicle turns into a powerful and elegant Sports SUV. Kicherer created a complicated assembly set of the bodywork that was placed over the ML’s design like second skin.

Kicherer is known for its top Germany quality and accuracy. The IMPACT has an aerodynamic assembly set that includes LED daytime running lights, wheel arch enlargements for the front and rear axles, side skirts, attachments to the doors and trunk lids, rear fender skirt with integrated rear diffuser and trapezoidal pipe-end covers in with sporty four-pipe appearance. It also gets a complete front fender skirt.

To complement this assembly set, the tuners added multiple perfectly positioned applications built from visible carbon fiber.

Huge 22-inch Kicherer RS2 Aluminum wheels are covered in an obviously bigger wheel arch. They use an electronic chassis adjustment system with a range of about 25 millimeters.

The Kicherer ML "IMPACT" is luxurious and the focus on details is emphasized through its choice Nappa leather, Alcantara and Carbon in the interior for an exclusive interior experience.

Kicherer ML "IMPACT" aerodynamic kit will be offered for all ML types 166 of the youngest generation. It’s expected to appear in the market during the summer of 2012.

The design of the interior of the M-Class from Mercedes-Benz has been upgraded from Economy to one that is truly First Class. For this third generation model, it continues to follow the off-road tradition present in a SUV while the occupants inside get to experience the level of comfort typically offered in a premium saloon. Indeed, one can say that the new M-Class comes with the best of both worlds.

Its switches are indeed finely detailed with the use of high-quality wood or aluminum. These help highlight the breathtaking surfaces and the strong and pleasant lines. This gives the people inside that high-quality feel of comfort. Without a doubt, the interior has a design concept which mixes a genuine SUV experience with the comfort of the high-quality saloon from Mercedes-Benz.

The dome shape brings with it emotion while best representing the power delivered by a SUV. For the front passenger area, the dashboard slopes smoothly resulting in an excellent amount of space and thus ensuring that the new M-Class is apt even when going on long trips. Considering that the new M-Class range comes from Mercedes-Benz, all of the models are sure to offer comfort as standard.

This is also true for the handling which is dynamic on the highway and even off-road. To make sure that it is able to deliver a superior experience more naturally, the brand made sure to put in a steel suspension that has selective damping. Helping with this are the new developments implemented for the chassis and the state-of-the-art dynamic handling control systems.

Other upgrades include the ACTIVE CURVE SYSTEM to allow for active roll stabilization and the AIRMATIC air suspension which has Adaptive Damping System. Meanwhile, the ON&OFF ROAD package offers six driving modes. There is a host of other exclusive packages placed in the new M-Class to make sure that it leads the segment when it comes to vibration comfort and acoustics.

With a tradition of strong off-road performance, the third generation of this SUV from Mercedes-Benz also gives the driver and the passengers a sense of being inside a luxury premium saloon. The exquisite wood or the ground aluminum, plus the trim highlights and the finely detailed switches, manage to combine with the strong harmonious lines and captivating surfaces to result in an interior with a luxurious atmosphere and excellent sense of comfort for everyone inside.
