This wider and lower Ferrari 488 GTB from Liberty Walk is not for the faint-hearted

The Ferrari 488 GTB – with all its sporty elegance and dynamic beauty – has been a favorite tuning subject for car tuners in many parts of the world. Now, world renowned Japanese tuning company Liberty Walk is joining the global club of tuners that has made the Ferrari 488 GTB the centerpiece of their modification project.

Liberty Walk’s version of the Ferrari 488 GTB was recently unveiled at the 2017 Tokyo Auto Salon. As expected, this Ferrari 488 GTB is not walking without boasting of Liberty Walk’s signature modifications – it is fitted with extra-wide body kits and is lowered very close to the ground. These modifications gave this turbocharged Ferrari a lower “stanced” appearance.

Aside from the wider body kits and lowered suspension, the Ferrari 488 GTB by Liberty Walk was heavily revised in terms of its exterior looks. Wrapped in bluish gray color finish, this Ferrari 488 GTB by Liberty Walk features a glossy black roof as well as glossy black side mirror housing. In addition, the Ferrari 488 GTB by Liberty Walk features a glossy black front lip spoiler and glossy black wheels wrapped in sporty Pirelli tires.

Yellow brake calipers can be seen through the spokes of the wheels. Moreover, this Ferrari 488 GTB by Liberty Walk features centrally located black stripes on the bonnet – it flows from the Ferrari logo and fades as it goes up to the windshield. These black stripes show up again at the rear, where a massive rear wing is mounted.

As far as the Liberty Walk is concerned, it is after those clients who love wider and lower versions of exotic cars. Among the cars that were given such treatment include the BMW M4 Coupe, the McLaren 650S and the Lamborghini Aventador.

It remains unknown whether Liberty Walk has revised the turbocharged 3.9-liter V8 engine. If not, then this engine still delivers a mesmerizing 670 hp of max output at 8,000 rpm and 760 Nm of torque in the seventh gear. This amount of power is sent to the rear wheels through a revised seven-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox derived from 458 Italia, allowing the Ferrari 488 GTB to sprint from zero to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 3.0 seconds and to 200 km/h (124 mph) in 8.3 seconds. Top speed is pegged at 330 km/h or 205 mph.

The exterior design of the Ferrari 488 GTB is inspired both by the original 308 GTB and by the 458 Italia. Its interior, meanwhile, features a plenty of classic Ferrari styling elements like the clear separation between the dash and tunnel, a control switch bridge as well as wraparound seats. The driver is treated to a stylish multifunctional steering wheel.
