Lorinser unveils new tuning components for Mercedes-Benz CLS Shooting Brake

Article by Anita Panait, on January 1, 2013

Lorinser is offering a comprehensive range of parts for the current Mercedes-Benz CLS X218. Car owners could customize their CLS X218 with aerodynamic components, improved performance, stainless steel exhaust systems, striking 19 and 20-inch alloy wheels and top-quality interior modifications. Lorinser worked hard to combine dynamic design with efficient aerodynamics.

The result is stylishness with optimized air flowing across an astoundingly looking vehicle outline.  The shapes of the vehicle’s sporty front spoiler bumper blend exquisitely with the wider wings. Along with the rear skirt, the Lorinser body components allow reduced lift while providing an eye-catching overall appearance. The Lorinser side skirts form an optical link between the front and rear.

The customized body kit is mounted on the serial attachment points, and is priced from EUR6,176, including German VAT.

Lorinser’s comprehensive range of performance enhancements is just as extensive as the selection of Mercedes engines. For instance, Sportservice offers optimized ECUs for the CLS 350 BlueEFFICIENCY, allowing it to produce up to 322 HP / 237 kW of output at 6200 RPM and up to 400 Nm of torque between 2900 and 5000 RPM.  Lorinser also lifted the CLS X218’s speed limit of 250 km/h, allowing it to achieve a top speed of 265 km/h.

On the other hand, Sportservice also offers optimized ECUs for the 350 CDI, allowing the engine to produce up to 305 hp (224 kW) of output at 4,100 rpm and up to 695 Nm of torque at 1,600 rpm to 2,900 rpm. Lorinser also offers sport rear silencers aligned to the different performance kits. The range includes four-pipe systems that ensure a full and powerful sound.

A Wing and Twin blade are the nicknames of the stunning, trademark AMG style attributes on the front area, which makes the CLS63 AMG immediately noticeable. The silver chrome colored "Twin blade" radiator grille includes the signature AMG logo on the dome roof. This 3D "A-Wing" air-ducting feature covers the overall width of the front apron and shows the mark "A" which is a signature mark for AMG cars.

The silver chrome colored strip "A-Wing" in the exterior gives the outline for the three huge air apertures - reminiscent of motorsport. Black flics on the air intakes on the side enhance the flow of air all the way to the cooling parts.

In collaboration with the new, modern, basic MULTIBEAM LED headlights, the front part of the CLS63 AMG represents pure action and strength. The strong AMG V8 flagship variants are now more noticeably different from other CLS variants. Seen from the side, the distinct, broad wings get immediate attention; V8 BITURBO lettering vindicate the superiority of the brand's engine output.

The back part also leaves a memorable mark: side, easily seen air channels and the black diffuser insert with defined fins give the CLS63 AMG a strong race car vibe.

The AMG Sport exhaust mechanism with twin tailpipe trims in chrome give a natural visual appeal. AMG triple-spoke alloy wheels occupy the wheel arcs perfectly. Size 255/35 R 19 tires on 9.0 x 19 wheels are installed at the front, and on the back, 285/30 R 19 tires are installed on 10 x 19 wheels.
