Mercedes-Benz A45 AMG gets 430 hp from GAD Motors

Article by Christian A., on August 11, 2014

The Mercedes-Benz A45 AMG was introduced back in February 2013 and made quite a buzz with its 2.0-liter four-cylinder turbocharged engine that generates 360 hp (265 kW) and 450 Nm of torque. Using a seven-speed AMG SpeedShift DCT transmission, the A45 AMG accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in just 4.6 seconds, while top speed is electronically limited to 155 mph or 250 km/h.

Still, GAD Motors considered that these numbers are not enough for the German hot hatch and as a result it remapped the ECU of the engine and boosted the 2.0-liter engine to an impressive 430 hp (316 kW) and 550 Nm of torque.

Thanks to the new improvements, the A45 AMG tuned by GAD Motors is able to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 4.1 seconds and to 200 km/h (124 mph) in 14.3 seconds (-3 seconds over the standard vehicle).

What’s more interesting is that this is only the first stage of the tuning program… we are eager to see the next one! The vehicle also received a new set of 19-inch OZ Racing Superforgiata multi-spoke alloy wheels painted in black and wrapped in high-performance Pirelli tires.

Mercedes-AMG adds unequivocally athletic and powerful qualities to the passionate exterior styling of the all-new A-Class. It sports all-new vibrant design, with sculpted character and feature outlines along its sides. These enhancements ensure that the A45 AMG fits its role as a distinguished high-performing vehicle - a pure AMG all the way through.

The Mercedes-Benz A45 AMG’s front is typified by AMG’s twin-blade radiator grille and the cross strut in the front apron, both of which are painted matte titanium grey. Stunning black flics border the hefty cooling air intakes on each side.

A noteworthy profile view is ensured by AMG’s light-alloy wheels in dual-spoked design and side sill panels with matte titanium grey inserts. The AMG rear apron, highlighted by side air outlet openings, has a diffuser insert and matte titanium grey trim. Two squared, chrome-plated tailpipes of the sports exhaust system, with exhaust flap, insert a suitable strong finishing touch.

Vibrant, select interior design and details

Inside as well, the all-new A45 AMG sports a thrilling blend of signature Mercedes-AMG vitality and exclusiveness. The sports seats comprised of ARTICO faux leather/DINAMICA microfibre with red contrasted top-stitches, the multi-function steering wheel with shift paddles, and the AMG DRIVE UNIT establish new benchmarks for both quality and appearance.

The trim on the dashboard is available in a carbon-fibre look, perfectly matching the five air vents in black/red, the red seatbelts, and the panels on the door sills. The AMG instrument clusters present data through a central colour screen with the AMG main menu and RACETIMER.
