Porsche tuning specialist Techart has revealed new details on its Cayenne V6 Diesel, Stuttgart's first-ever production diesel model. The German company, which only had its debut at the Geneva Salon in early 2009, said that its comprehensive tuning program covers engine and chassis conversions to interior and aerodynamic styling upgrades.
Buyers will be able to purchase Techart's Cayenne as new or added to existing vehicles. Let's examine the improvements to the engine. Techart's power kit enhances the output of the Cayenne's 3.0-liter diesel from 240HP to 290HP. The kit also allows the peak torque to rise from 550Nm to 630Nm (465 lb-ft) at 2,200 rpm, with more than 500 Nm being available from around 1,100 rpm to beyond 4,000 rpm.
Techart further claims that 0 to 60mph sprint time drops from 8.3 seconds to 7.7 seconds; however, CO2 emissions and fuel consumption on the combined cycle remain unchanged at 244g/km and 30.4mpg UK (9.3lt/100 km or 25.3mpg US) respectively.
If your car is fitted with air suspension, the tuner offers a new suspension control module that lowers the vehicle, while at the same time, reducing roll and improving aerodynamics.
The Cayenne Diesel is equipped with 21-inch alloy wheels fitted with Michelin Diamaris 4X4 XL 295/35 R21 tires. Along with the upgrades to the chassis and engine is a full aero kit with a front panel and a deeper front spoiler, side skirts and a new rear apron with an integrated diffuser.
Also included in the package are twin double oval exhaust pipes, headlight and tail lamp trims, a three-spoke Techart sports steering wheel, and a Porsche airbag. Interior trim upgrades are comprised of leather-edged luxury logo floor mats and lightweight aluminum pedals and footrest. Buyers can also choose to have 22-inch body color wheels fitted with 295/30 R22 Continental tires, an Aero or Turbo-look bonnet.
There are numerous interior options ranging from individual trim components to customized leather upholstery. Price in the UK for the Cayenne Diesel with Techart‚ Aerokit 1 package including the interior and exterior upgrades is from £53,000. Adding the engine upgrades raises the price to £55,500. For existing vehicles, fitting the Aerokit 1 costs from £15,000 while the 290 hp engine kit costs from £2,500.
