Overfinch unveils the Range Rover Sport GTS-X

Article by Christian A., on August 10, 2012

Overfinch, the popular Range Rover tuner, has presented its newest limited-edition model -- the GTS-X – the most powerful and fastest Range Rover Sport-based model that Overfinch has ever built. With a starting price of £147,500, the Overfinch body styling package features daytime running lights, copper range paintwork, as well as color-coded side panels and vents.

It also has a set of 22-inch alloys and special two-tone badging. Powering the GTS-X is a tuned version of the Range Rover Sport’s supercharged 5.0-litre V8 engine, which delivers 575bhp and 516lb ft of torque. The GTS-X can reach a top speed of 145mph and can accelerate from zero to 60mph in 5.0sec, which makes it 0.9sec faster than the standard car.

The Overfinch GTS-X has 380mm drilled and ventilated Brembo disc brakes while its exhaust system has a driver-operated electronic valve release so that the V8’s sound can be easier to hear than usual. In addition, the GTS-X has an electronic lowering module that regulates the suspension under braking so that it becomes more stable and the quality of the ride is improved.

Overfinch said that the module complements the rear spoiler to intensify the downforce. It comes with a full Nappa leather interior. It also has an orange-stitched steering wheel, headlining and door cards. Carbonfiber is also used extensively on its gearshift paddles and tread plates.

Land Rover’s Range Rover Sport boasts on-road dynamics that has been transformed by a comprehensive program of modifications to the chassis system. At the same time, the Range Rover Sport also delivers a substantial improvement in off-road capabilities.

New systems, like Adaptive Dynamics, have been introduced to the vehicle, and these work in conjunction with the existing Dynamic Response on the Supercharged models. Plus, the road-focused Dynamic program has been added to its Terrain ResponseTM system, helping enhance its ride quality and its agility. This Terrain ResponseTM system has been further improved to ensure that the Range Rover Sport’s off-road capability meets the expected class-leading level.

Range Rover Sport's muscular and stylish exterior has been updated in order to provide a cleaner and a more sculpted feel. What’s more, striking signature LED headlamps, along with front bumpers, a 2-bar grille, and fenders, create a more aerodynamic and sporting stance. Meanwhile, the vehicle’s rear, new light clusters as well as its revised bumper design, mirror its smoother front-end.

Additionally, the Range Rover Sport’s interior has been redesigned comprehensively using higher quality materials, superior craftsmanship, and soft-touch finishes so as to create a premium environment that is truly worthy of the Range Rover brand.

According to Land Rover’s Phil Popham, the Range Rover Sport was able to generate a passionate following of customers requiring the performance and refinement of a true-blue sports tourer. But at the same time, it values the Land Rover’s formidable off-road ability. Now that they have further widened the Range Rover Sport’s range of capabilities.
