Porsche 997 V-RT Edition Turbo by Vorsteiner

Article by Christian A., on August 29, 2010

The newest aerodynamic and forged wheel package by Vorsteiner V-RT (Vorsteiner Race Technologies) is at last going to be available in addition to the present V-GT lineup for the Porsche 997 Carrera. After March 23 of this year the brand new V-RT parts will be offered worldwide. The exterior aero pack is composed of 3 primary packages.

For the front face there is a new front face replacement that comes with larger carbon fiber radiator air intakes and the removal of the fog lights similar to the standard production 997 GT2.

For additional downforce at the front face, it will include a removable dry carbon fiber front lower air spoiler which also protects the front bumper from all road obstacles and steep inclines. The primary hindrance to the design of the front bumper was cutting weight to the maximum.

Weight reduction was successfully achieved by the removal of the fog lights and the substitution of the production plastic air ducts and hardware with carbon fiber air duct integrated into the bumper.

The rear bumper was also developed to provide the 997 Turbo with a broader appearance through enlarged side intercooler extraction vents where the dry carbon fiber replacement shroud, which is 35 percent bigger for better airflow through the intercoolers, is located.

Featured in the rear bumper is a new molded carbon fiber rear air diffuser with inbuilt double aerodynamic fins that surround the four tips of the sport exhaust system. Rounding off the V-RT rear end is a carbon composite engine cover with double ram air intakes.

In addition, it also comes with a carbon fiber wing blade that improve the final looks of the car while at the same time boosting downforce at the rear during high speed mobility.

It comes with the V-306 twin 7 spoke 3-piece forged wheel clothes in Michelin Pilot Sport PS2 rubber. The wheels are equipped with a race-like center mesh arrangement in 20x8.5J and 20x12J which come also in 19 inch setups with choices of custom finish.
