Techart upgrades the 2013 Porsche Cayenne S Diesel

Article by Christian A., on April 2, 2013

TECHART is offering an aerodynamic kit for Porsche’s high-torque SUV Cayenne S Diesel. What buyers get is a combination of efficiency and luxury. The TECHART Aerodynamic Kit for Porsche Cayenne S Diesel features deep black metallic paint, modified black leather interior, light green applications and a set of 23-inch TECHART Formula light alloy wheels in black with a light green outer rim.

Brake and inter-cooling are optimized with the help of the three-part front spoiler with integrated air outlets. The carbon aero engine hood with integrated double-sided air outlets improves heat management in the engine compartment. As a result, enough oxygen is sent to the 8-cylinder turbo diesel motor. As an option, TECHART offers its Lighting Package with LED or halogen lights as twin headlights with high-beam and fog lights.

Buyers can also ask for the multifunctional daytime running light. This LED system unit merges daytime running lights, side light, parking light and indicators in one common housing. Furthermore, the luminous intensity instantly adjusts to the chosen day light setting.

TECHART Front Apron I and side skirts calls attention to its sporty looks and transfer TECHART-DNA consistently to the rear. Completing the aerodynamic kit for Porsche Cayenne models are the following features: TECHART Roof Spoiler, TECHART Rear Apron with integrated diffuser and two reflectors. Buyers can specifically request more trims and painted or carbon styling packages to achieve more individualization.

The Porsche Cayenne models get an aesthetic and acoustic significance from the TECHART Exhaust System Sport with EC type approval and TECHART Dual Oval Tube with embossed logotype.

Currently, TECHART is developing a power kit for the Porsche Cayenne S Diesel, which will be based on the TECHART Engine Management System TECHTRONIC. The TECHART Program for Porsche Cayenne models come with the TECHART Formula 5-spoke light alloy wheel in 20- to 23-inch sizes, the TECHART Formula II 5-spoke light alloy wheel in 22- and 23-inch sizes, while the TECHART Formula III 5-spoke forged light alloy wheel is offered in 21- and 22-inch sizes.

Here comes the new Cayenne! With its elegant design, technological elements, spacious interior, lightweight nature, dynamism and efficiency, the new Cayenne is an excellent testament to the authenticity of the Porsche brand. The latest generation of the Porsche Cayenne has never been this powerful, efficient and environment-friendly. In fact, the new Cayenne models consume 23 percent less fuel than their predecessors.

This is because the new Cayenne was developed without going beyond the principle of Porsche Intelligent Performance. Three of the five Cayenne models are still below the fuel consumption limit of 10 liters per 100 km (New European Driving Cycle).

The two remaining models, Cayenne Diesel and the Cayenne S Hybrid, emit 195 grams and 193 grams, respectively of carbon dioxide per kilometer – all below carbon dioxide emission limit of 200 grams per kilometer. This lower fuel consumption level across the Porsche Cayenne range is thanks to many factors, including Porsche's new eight-speed Tiptronic S automatic transmission, Auto Start Stop and a wide range of gear increments.

This is also thanks to the transmission cooling circuit, thermal management on the engine and recuperation of the on-board network, as well as weight reduction, intelligent lightweight construction and variable overrun cut-off.

Furthermore, thanks to a weight-optimized mix of materials as well as certain modifications – like the extra-light all-wheel drive -- Porsche was able to make the Cayenne Turbo lighter than 185 kilos (almost 410 lbs), although the newest model has more product substance and higher standard of all-round safety. While this does improve the car’s carbon dioxide emissions and fuel consumption, it also enhances its on-road performance, handling and agility.

This is one of the reasons why the Porsche Cayenne is able to provide better driving enjoyment, enhanced comfort and superior elegance. The latest generation of the Porsche Cayenne has been provided with an athletic yet elegant design, which says a lot about its potential on the road and its identity as a member of the Porsche family.
