German tuning company TUNINGWERK GmbH is now offering an optimized BMW M135i. The BMW M135i is considered as an ideal vehicle to optimize, thanks to its performance-wise factory settings and turbo-charged straight-six-engine. To optimize the M135i, which is regarded as the top model of the recent BMW 1 series, TUNINGWERK started with the vehicle's factory-set software.

Then, the Bavarian tuning firm equipped the engine of the test car, locked to manual gear, with a dual mass flywheel that is around 2 kilograms lighter.  Customers could also opt for a single mass flywheel that is 4.5 kilograms and a reinforced clutch. Both of these options cannot be equipped on a BMW M135i locked in automatic gears.

The tuned BMW M135i is also equipped with a modified turbo charger and an enlarged intercooler. An additional water cooler is also fitted on the left in the engine compartment. TUNINGWERK also fitted a down pipe with 200-cells cat into the exhaust system.

Depending on modification or configuration level, the engine could provide up to 360PS to 450PS (265PS to 331kW) of power output. To improve the vehicle's driving dynamics, TUNINGWERK inbuilt triple adjustable KW Clubsport suspensions and a limited slip differential on the rear axle.

The Puchheim-based tuner also equipped the front axle by 245/40R18 and the rear axle by 265/35R18 Dunlop Direzza semi slicks. The turner also installed a BMW performance braking system with TUNINGWERK racing brake pads and steel flex pipes. The warm state braking values could reach around 33 meters.

Model-particular suspension innovation permits the BMW M135i to abuse the performance of its exceptionally robust engine, letting the driver experience astoundingly confident, exciting driving dynamics.

Because of the individual control of the suspension and damping systems as well as the particular elasto-kinematics of the front axle, the BMW M Performance car can indulge the driver with an array of especially energetic driving attributes. Also, its Variable Sports Steering system ascertains its own set of attributes. The well-balanced interaction of engine, suspension and aerodynamic balance rewards with an exceptionally light-footed driving experience, under the exact control of the driver at all times.

BMW M Performance car is conveyed with a fixed caliper M Sport Brake System with four-cylinder units on the front axle and two-cylinder units at the rear as standard gear. The system is equipped with oversized brake discs and dark blue metallic calipers carrying the M logo. The M Sport Brake System is additionally available on all of the other models in the all-new BMW 1-Series three-door vehicle range, in cooperation with the optional M Sport Package.

The default 18-inch M light alloy wheels on the BMW M 135i are equipped with tires of various sizes: 225/40 R18 on the front axle and 245/35 R18 on the back. The high grip tires, produced particularly for this model, ensure that both the acceleration torque and the braking torque are perfectly transmitted to the road surface.
