VATH Giant based on Mercedes-Benz ML63 AMG

The tuners from German tuning firm VATH Automobiltechnik have set their sights on the Mercedes Benz ML 63 AMG and have given the car even more power. The sports utility vehicle, which is being built on the ML 63 AMG as the base, is capable of reaching a top speed of around 300 kilometers per hour.

This high-performance SUV– dubbed as the VATH Giant – is being served by a powerful VATH 6.3 liters engine that is tuned to deliver a whooping output of up to 585 HP as well as an amazing torque of up to 690 Nm.

For desired serviceability, the VATH Giant performance SUV has had many of its engine parts substituted. The 6.-3-liter engine has enlarged countersunk channels leading to the cylinder head.

Adding more to the allure of the VATH Giant performance SUV are a big intake and exhaust valves as well as a sports camshaft and fitting valve springs that have been installed.

In addition, individual fine tuning of engine electronics was carried out by VATH Auto while an exhaust manifold, two high-grade steel catalyst converters and a sport air filter were installed. To maintain stability at high engine rpm, the VATH Giant was given special forged pistons.

Engine tuning costs EUR17,850,00 plus EUR1785,00 for the installation. A vehicle carrying such power is expected to also have astounding acceleration values. The heavy SUV is able to sprint from zero to 100 km/h in 4.5 seconds.

At around 300 km/h, the car is decelerated by air resistance. For sure, this capability also imposes tremendous requirements on aerodynamics, chassis and braking system. The uplift on the rear axle can be reduced by a rear spoiler (costing EUR405.00) that is mounted or glued over the tailgate.

Contributing to driving dynamics and providing an exclusive design of the new ML63 AMG-based VATH Giant are its 3-spoke 22-inch light alloy rims that are shod with high performance 265/35 ZR 22 or 305/30 ZR 22 Dunlop tires and wheel arches. Each of these wheels set costs around EUR8,568.00.

This means that is sufficient space left for the VATH high performance braking that is priced at EUR4.641.00 and boasts of with 8-piston fix calipers and 380 mm (15 inches) break discs.

Adjustable sport suspension – costing around 1,952.00 -- based on Airmatic ensures ML lowering as well as guarantees road-holding capacity of a sports car. The fog lights behind the front bumper grill of the VATH Giant are priced at around EUR583.00.

The tuning firm VATH Automobiltechnik is based in the Bavarian city of Hosbach in Germany.
